City View Church San Diego to begin nine-week

City View San Diego will begin its nine-week series called “Focus Forward" on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m.

The church’s website announced they would learn the Book of Nehemiah and have live and online classes. They added that they would air it online through Facebook or the church’s YouTube channel at a pacific time.

About Focus Forward

On the same website, City View Church emphasized that distractions could take people’s attention, time, and concentration. But, God has a divine task for each one's life regardless of the distractions they are into, as further explained on the website.

In addition, the church believes that God has a purpose for everyone’s relationships, marriage, and families. They added that God has reasons for their career and journey toward Him.

The website mentioned that the Book of Nehemiah would allow them to witness how Nehemiah dealt with the struggles that were trying to stop him and the Israelites from doing God’s purpose to reestablish the walls in Jerusalem.

Awakening God’s People

City View Church San Diego believes that God wants to awaken His church and his people this 2023 to accomplish His purpose through their lives. They stressed that God would powerfully proclaim His glory.

Moreover, the church encouraged its congregation to attend the Nine-week course to be trained in Biblica principles. They added that this series could help them move forward, focusing on God’s plan for His calling in 2023.

Book of Nehemiah

According to the Insight for Living Ministries website, Nehemiah is the primary writer of this historical book. They noted that most of the book is written from his first-person view. The website said Nehemiah did not mention his youth and background in the book.

However, in the book, they introduced Nehemiah as an adult serving in the Persian royal court as the personal cupbearer to King Artaxerxes.

In addition, the website noted that Nehemiah’s high position revealed his righteous character. They explained that he stayed in Persia after the exiles, even if he was allowed to go home. They emphasized that he was highly interested in the state of affairs in Judah.

They stated that the book of Nehemiah could be a continuation of the book of Ezra. Some experts noted that the two were originally one work, as further commented on the website.

As further explained, there is a possibility that Ezra compiled Nehemiah’s original accounts on other resources to make the book of Nehemiah.
