The First Presbyterian Church San Diego appeals to members to continuously pray for Ukraine as part of their mission.
The church has given $2000 from their Mission Emergency account to The Outreach Foundation, one of their reliable partners, the church’s website revealed.
Ukraine Appeal
The Outreach Foundation website noted an appeal as they witnessed the news coming out of Eastern Europe. They are inviting everyone to join in prayer for anyone in danger. The foundation asks to pray for those in the battle against the invasion of their nation.
Also, they want people to pray for those living in places or fleeing to safe areas outside their country. The website said that more than three million people are affected.
Thanks to Generous Gifts
They also extend their gratitude to those who support their mission.
With this, they could give funds to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Lviv, utilizing the money to help both Ukrainians fleeing and staying in the country. They mentioned that the church is buying food, medicine, and first aid kits to help civilians injured in Ukraine. They are also purchasing backpacks, food, water, and supplies to give to refugees for their journey. The same website added that the church gives money to refugees to access train or bus tickets.
Besides, funds are being sent to The College of Theology and Social Sciences, a seminary in Warsaw. The website said that it became housing for Ukrainian survivors. They added that they also sent monetary aid to City Church, where Ukrainian members and refugees are staying. The foundation said they do not have enough resources to help but still offering whatever they have to help.
Also, they noted that the said church would be making a considerable effort soon to bring at least 47 orphans and their caregivers from the war zone in the said country.
Thank You from Ukraine
“All people are thankful; the line isn’t stopping and getting longer. God, please help these people”, said on the foundation’s YouTube Video posted on May 12, 2022, while giving out relief goods to the refugees.
The website emphasized that for the victims of the war, their only hope comes from the church. They noted that because of the extraordinary generosity of those who donated and church members, the foundation has assisted in supplying necessary medical support all over Ukraine.
These medical goods come from outside the said nation. It was gathered in Romania by their partner Beni Husarciuc, a Cru staff person. He connected the foundation to another partner, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Lviv. The website added that this connection allowed them to receive pictures and stories.
The website noted that the video is a story of gratitude. The foundation emphasized that what helpers are doing with them is enabling physicians, priests, and so many volunteers like Husarciuc to be firm with Jesus. Donors do not just give financial help, but hope itself, expressed in the way believers can be present with those suffering, as posted on the website.
