Coast Vineyard brings some of its congregants to visit partner churches in Thailand to support and motivate the ongoing service of local leadership every year.
Since 2004, the church has been collaborating with local Vineyard sanctuaries in Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia, as stated on the church’s website. Besides, three Coast families have relocated to Thailand full-time to adopt orphans. They have also been investing in the development of the community over the years.
The church highlighted that one of the said families has already created their own organization, the Charis Project. The church provides support for their work every month. These families are also part of the church’s itinerary when they have their annual trip, which is added on its website.
Putting High Value on Local Churches
They also noted that they focus on local church planting and establishing friendships with local churches. The church thinks this is more efficient and could create a firmer connection by working through mission organizations.
Moreover, they give importance to strengthening local leaders who are part of the culture they are serving compared with the long-term placement of foreign missionary shepherds.
Cross-Cultural Partnerships in Vineyard
According to the Vineyard Missions website, more than 60 counties are part of their mission to create a connection and equip churches. They mentioned that their goal is to encourage churches in the USA to participate in the tasks of God across cultures.
They interact with interested people and international organizations to serve Vineyard USA churches. The same website added that they host various volunteer groups like the Missions Leadership Team and Country Partnership. Then, they report to the churches on the development of church planting internationally.
Meanwhile, the said program gives a capacity building in diverse cultural skills and helps enhance leadership. The website also mentioned that they scaffold churches’ care for their various long-term servants, including giving expertise in times of trouble.
The mission group’s primary goal is to organize a church planting movement in every country. They also aim to empower indigenous leaders to shepherd their communities. The website added that they give resources and help to facilitate and organize the cross-cultural work of US Vineyard churches as they pursue their God-given call to the world.
Connect & Equip
“As Jesus’ followers, we are called to share the gospel to every nation. How can we do that efficiently in the 21st century?” the website noted.
The Vineyard Missions believes that everything begins with a relationship. They have been a catalyst for helping pastors, leaders, and missionaries enrich meaningful and long-term connections with emerging shepherds worldwide. These pastors are seeking partnership and a desire to mature and lead.
The Missions noted that they are active in creating network relationships with Vineyard churches in America and are willing to play a role in the international programs. With these connections, the website emphasized that they could do what they could: connect and train Vineyard sanctuaries to raise indigenous servant-leaders who will be the ambassadors for a church-planting movement in their home nation.
