Flood Church invited its members to attend the Emotionally Healthy Relationships Course to nurture healthy connections with Jesus and others, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the church’s cafe.

The church’s announcement posted that it would be an eight-week class centered on the valuable skills needed to develop good relationships. They added that Pastor Matt and Roxanne Hammet would lead the course.

They would teach eight skills that enrich communication and understanding relationships. The website said they designed these classes to disciple and train members to love Jesus in more realistic ways.

As further announced, there would be a $20 admission fee per person for the materials.

Dealing with Relationships

According to the church’s counseling page, Flood Church believes in the importance of wholeness. They said it is vital for individuals’ spiritual health. The church provides classes and counseling to help each member develop and grow.

In another section, the church has been dealing with the same problems all these years. These issues include broken relationships, unresolved arguments, and lying. They added that some pretend things are going well because they are conscious of being nice.

Flood Church said that people hear preaching about loving God and others most of the time. But there are a few transformations in their way of life.

As noted on the website, the church would begin a course about healthy relationships with others to address this concern. They said they would use the Emotionally Healthy (EH) Relationships Course by Pete and Geri Scazzero.

As further explained, the EH relationships are focused on biblical principles. These concepts serve as guidelines for members. They added that it would be discipleship training that could change their lives.

Course Details

The Amazon website stated that the book talks about how people spend a lot of money to learn and become good in their careers. But few individuals have learned how to love well.

The authors emphasized that 85 percent of Christians are stagnant. They noted that they are trapped in their spiritual lives.

They said most discipleship training does not include essential growth tools such as loving others and God.

The same website said it took Pete and Geri Scazzero 21 years to deal with the concern of loving relationships with others directly.

The workbook includes session introductions. It also provides group discussion questions, as posted on the website. They added that the material also consists of a personal action process and study.

Course Content

The Amazon website featured that this course is a mighty walk that could transform people’s ways of loving God, others, and themselves.

The class's first topic is taking community temperature readings, as further posted on the website. They added that participants would also learn to stop reading minds and clarify expectations.

In addition, the course would teach about genograms of families and discover the “Iceberg.” As mentioned on the website, participants could also learn how to understand other people’s situations.

They would also develop their integrity as they fight fairly, as stated on the website. The last topic mentioned is about knowing the “rule of life” to apply the skills to emotions.
