Missiongathering San Diego hosted a wrapping party for the children at the Los Angelitos Orphanage on Monday, Nov. 7, at Pastor Rich’s house.

The church announced they had wrapped 20 Christmas gifts for the children. They added that volunteer members brought Christmas wrappers and a bottle of wine to fellowship while wrapping presents.

Los Angelitos Orphanage

According to the Los Angelitos Orphanage, they serve as a shelter for marginalized children. They noted that these kids do not have the chance to experience a safe living situation and cultivated upbringing.

In addition, they explained that these kids at Los Angelitos Orphanage do not have the privilege of going to school and having a good family life. They revealed that these children are either orphans or abandoned, which would lead them to be homeless in Tijuana.

The orphanage stated they have a safe place in the rural south and urban Tijuana. They added that they mainly serve kids under the Mexican Government. As further mentioned, they have been serving ages one to 21 for 13 years.

The website emphasized that the more support they get, the more they could have the chance to expand and add more kids under their care.

Waiting Kids

The Los Angelitos Orphanage admitted that there are still many children waiting for them to be accepted into the orphanage. They emphasized that these kids are desperate. But, they revealed that they only have room for about 50.

More importantly, it is unfortunate for the orphanage because they cannot welcome more children until they have enough sponsors, as explained on the website. They added that they are spending a budget for food, childcare, and other daily expenses.

Meanwhile, the website noted that people are welcome to work with Los Angelitos and be a blessing to these children. They need additional donations to welcome extra kids into the shelter, as mentioned on the website.

Los Angelitos Orphanage stressed that their monetary support is a “lifesaving” present to the child, and they would treasure these contributions.

Story of Rosa Ramirez

In another section, the orphanage featured the story of Rosa Ramirez, who came to Los Angelitos Orphanage when she was young. They noted that she came from the poorest part of Mexico in Chiapas.

She stated that she realized there was no way she could escape severe poverty in her hometown when she was 14. Ramirez dreamed of a better life and went to Tijuana, a big city.

On the website, she revealed that she worked in a factory for 12 hours for six days, but the salary was minimal. She said she could see other kids her age wearing a nice uniform and being with their friends, joyfully dancing on their way to school.

Ramirez emphasized that at 14, she was confused, lonely, and sad. She added that she did not know what life had to offer her.

Since she was a minor, the website noted that she ended up under the court system's jurisdiction. Ramirez was placed in a large government facility for abandoned kids.

Miracle

Ramirez experienced a miracle after several months at the holding facility, as mentioned on the website. They stated that Los Angelitos Orphanage warmly welcomed her and gave her a space with her newborn child.

She emphasized that she had finally had a loving family and a safe home to acquire opportunities like education and a career.
