Newbreak Church announced that they would be starting the Superbook Academy, where elementary students would have the chance to have a midweek service every Wednesday, beginning on Sept. 14 at the Tierrasanta Campus.

The church’s website said this would be an excellent way for children to worship God and play games. They added that children would enjoy watching the Superbook characters Chris, Joy, and Gizmo go back into the Bible stories.

Besides, the church would help the kids learn the lessons about how Jesus changed the lives of people. They encouraged children to attend the free midweek service, as posted on the website. They also welcome volunteers from church members to help in the weekly gatherings.

Beginning of Superbook

The Superbook Project website revealed that the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) made the children’s animated Bible series in 1981. They noted that this series was designed for their outreach in Japan.

As further revealed, people knew the series as “Animated Parent and Child Theater.” Tatsunoko Productions in Japan produced it. The website said the company worked with CBN in America and named the series “Superbook.”

Moreover, the research showed that more than eight million individuals watched the Superbook. They watch it every night on Japanese prime-time television. They emphasized that many people bought the Bible, becoming the best-selling book nationwide.

The same website revealed that when Superbook was broadcast in the Soviet Union, more than six million children sent letters to CBN. Then, they noted that the original Superbook videos went public worldwide.

The website highlighted 52 episodes in 43 languages in 106 countries. They noted that over 500 million individuals watched the series.

Bible Experience

In addition, the Superbook Project website stresses that they seek to share the love of Jesus by bringing the Bible stories to life. They want children to understand the Bible in their language, as added on the website.

As further mentioned on the website, the animated Bible could help the kids develop their faith. The website said children could learn more about Jesus through Superbook.

They said that millions of children discovered Jesus and accepted Him as their savior through the Superbook.

More importantly, the Superbook is an interactive tool for children. They said it is a practical resource available anywhere, as stated on the website.

Working with Churches

The same website explains that the Superbook Project partners closely with local churches and community ministries. They want to help in developing tools for necessary follow-up and discipleship.

Churches could use the Superbook Academy, as mentioned on the website. They said that it is an engaging digital curriculum for children’s ministry. As further explained, the Superbook Academy offers intensive lesson plans based on the series.

They also included activities and crafts for kids to enjoy while learning God’s word.

According to the website, their partners are helping the project create more episodes. They are translating them into more languages. They have also made mobile apps, websites, and lessons for kids.

They emphasized that Superbook is a life-changing story. It is more than entertainment for kids. The website said life-transforming begins once the animated episode ends.
