Members of Newbreak Church are encouraged to help bless Ocean Beach Elementary (OBE) teachers and staff by renovating their teacher's lounge on May 21.
Painters, cleaners, and furniture assemblers are needed, as posted on the church’s announcement. They added that children are also welcome to help. Volunteers would meet at Newbreak OB at 8:30 a.m. and bring all their needed supplies, including boxes of furniture, gallons of paint, etc. The OBE is only two blocks away from the church.
The church announced that they hoped to start at 9 a.m. with many helpers painting large walls and cleaning old floors and cabinets. Then, after two hours, they would un-box and arrange furniture and decor. Participants would peel and stick wallpaper, while some would mount new cabinets and place furniture.
Afterward, they would finish by fluffing pillows and cleaning up around noon. The church announced that volunteers could celebrate after the remodeling and eat pizza for lunch.
They emphasized that every little help with this vast project is appreciated.
Heart for People
The church’s website highlights what Jesus replied when asked about the greatest commandment. He replied that loving the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength is the first and most excellent command. Secondly, loving their neighbors as themselves. Jesus emphasized that there is no other great commandment than these.
They also noted that Newbreak Church is all about connecting with other individuals through God. They connect through genuine relationships to serve communities.
With this, the church also established Kingdom Builders, where they support individuals and programs working both locally and worldwide to bring the transformation of God’s grace to their world.
The church collaborates with various groups and projects to spread God’s love and His hope to the world, as posted on their website. With the said partnerships, the church could provide under-resourced people and communities access to basic human needs.
