This year, Ocean View Church reaches out to Tijuana, Mexico, to continue touching people’s lives suffering from poverty, neglect, and despair on their Mission Trip on April 30.

The church website announced that the said family trip is for regular church attendees. They added that many individuals in the said area are victims of drugs and alcohol and living on the streets. The church said they want to share Jesus’ compassion and concern with these people with an eternal purpose for rescue.

They also posted the set dates for the trip this summer, 2022. From July 7 to July 10, another team will be going to Tijuana, Mexico. Then from July 18 to July 22, they will have another mission trip to the said area.

Mission Trip to Change Life

“Go on a Mission Trip. It will transform you”, Pastor Steve highlighted.

Pastor Stever Boschen, the Lead Pastor of Ocean View Church, quoted a saying that to give someone a fish is to feed him for a day but to teach him how to fish is to provide for him forever.

Boshen also mentioned that they want to see a transformation of lives through a personal connection with Jesus Christ and His church. He said their desire is not just to give a handout but a hand up to the Father in Heaven.

The pastor also informed everyone that every ministry they do is focused on the gospel and discipleship training they had.

Team Requirements

The church’s announcement informed specific requirements for members interested in joining the said mission trips—first, a valid U.S passport book or card is necessary. Also, every group member should be active in all services and projects of the church. They also said they should be involved in team prayer, study, and team-building exercises.

Besides, participants must attend the Participation Orientation. They are also encouraged to finish the given guide on “Preparing my Heart” before the said orientation. Members should also complete all the listed items to bring on the trip.

The church also reminded the congregation that children under 11 years old are not allowed to join. Each participant must complete a full background check by the church, as they posted.

San Diego-Tijuana Friendship

In a written article by Sara Beauchemin on Sept. 7, 2016, on the Voice of San Diego website, she informed about what unites San Diego and Tijuana Mega-Region.

She stated that about 50 years ago, the said areas had an inauguration of Friendship Part at the U.S- Mexico border in Tijuana, where former First Lady Pat Nixon spoke at the said event. Nixon hoped that there would never be a wall between the two great nations' friendship.

Furthermore, the report said that many individuals in the San Diego- Tijuana region are dedicated to ensuring that the friendship endures. The website noted that many nonprofits, foundations, philanthropists, and businesses work together with the government in both countries. This activity is to build a neighborly connection that would unite San Diego and Tijuana as a “mega-region.”
