Flood Church holds 'To Become One Spring 2022; Engaged & Newlyweds Classes'

Flood Church conducts To Become One (2B1): A Preparation for Marriage wherein it is a seven-week learning community for pre-engaged, engaged, and newlyweds from March 13 to May 1, 2022, Sunday evenings at the church’s cafe.

There would be four to five couples grouped, coached by a married couple as informed on the church’s website. They would discuss the foundation of marriage, personalities, finances, and family of origin. They also added that they would tackle conflict, communication, and sex & intimacy.

To Become One

The church’s website mentioned that To Become One is a part of their ministry. This program aims to support pre-engaged, engaged, and newlyweds members. They grouped 12-20 couples for each class. And then they would have three courses with one married couple coach.

Moreover, they said participants would have to submit their homework every week and have a small group discussion. Then they present a topic and debriefing for couples. As posted on their announcement, the said program costs $115 per couple.

Church’s Counseling

“We believe that wholeness is vital to our spiritual health,” the church said.

The church offers counseling to support its members. They provide Pastoral Counseling. Their staff and leaders are willing to help anyone take a step forward to completeness. They added that members could fill-up the form on their website to schedule a meeting with a pastor or leader.

Besides, they posted the contact information of their assigned staff on their website. The church said that many of their counseling referrals are still open and offer appointments online even if there is a pandemic.

Also, the church offers short-term classes called “Flood Courses.” They made these classes to enrich opportunities to assist individuals mature in and through specific areas of life. They have studies on Connecting to God through Art and Prayer every Saturday morning. Then the website also mentioned that they have a Spiritual Formation and Race on Sundays. 

They even offer classes on Emotionally Healthy Relationships. Also, they have classes at the Color of Compromise and Financial Peace University. They provide another essential lesson about Following Jesus every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

San Diego Institute for Couples & Families

One of the church's referred counselors connected to marriage is the San Diego Institute for Couples & Families.

According to their website, their main focus is relationships. They said they assist their clients in repairing and revitalizing their relationships. They believe that it is better not to be alone in this situation.

The institute said they work with children, adults, couples, and families. They are using tested and effective processes so they can help lessen relational distress and strengthen connections. 

They also acknowledge that building healthy relationships makes people happier and families. Their resources are research-based therapeutic approaches. They are successful in helping individuals and couples.
