Point Loma Presbyterian Church to host community Christmas concert

Point Loma Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Christmas concert for the community on Sunday, Dec 4.

The church’s website said members of the San Diego Symphony and the Ringers ReJOYce will perform at the event. They added that they look forward to enjoying a night filled with songs.

As noted on the website, Point Loma Presbyterian Church’s adult and children choirs will join the concert. It added that the Worship Band, piano, and organ prepared their presentation for the community. 

The church also announced that there would be two unique performances at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. It said it prepared a social reception between concerts in the Family Life Center for more fellowship.

Point Loma Presbyterian Church encouraged its congregation to bring their friends and neighbors to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.

San Diego Symphony

The San Diego Symphony website emphasizes that they seek to transform lives through music. They noted that the orchestra has undoubtedly committed to its highest artistic achievement. 

In addition, the website said that the group wants people to attain their potential by offering a shared sense of pride. It added the group desires for them to become a part of something great that any of them reach alone.

More importantly, they mentioned giving their audiences the magic of live music and changing learning experiences. They said they nurture an understanding and passion for the arts.

The San Diego Symphony website stated that they serve and design the region’s culture to ensure they work hard. They added that they committed the group to fiscal accountability. 

They highlighted that their music is for everyone and shows the heart of the country's music.

Leading Orchestra

The same website revealed that San Diego Symphony Orchestra had become one of the top orchestras in America since 1910. They added that the group was assigned a Tier 1 Orchestra by the League of American Orchestras in 2010.

The symphony creates music as a valuable part of Southern California's cultural and intellectual identity. As further mentioned, they have a rich combination of new and educational programs to attract all generations and cultures.

According to the website, Rafael Payer is the music director of the symphony, and Edo de Waart is their principal guest conductor. They added that Jahja Ling is the group’s conductor laureate.

Music, Arts

According to the church's website Point Loma, Community Presbyterian Church continues to offer a long-standing tradition of musical excellence. They acknowledge their Director of Worship and Music, Alicia McMillan, for leading a dynamic and alive music program. 

They added that they have programs, particularly for kids and adults. 

Ringers ReJOYce

The same website noted that Ringers ReJOYce started in 1974 and performed at various places around San Diego. They usually join the church’s Sunday morning worship service to improve their performance, as further explained on the website. 

They also sing during different programs at Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church, as emphasized on the website.
