The RB Community Church holds a six-week course to analyze perceived issues between science and religion and how theologians and scientists have tried to deal with the tension on May 25 at the church’s fellowship center.

According to the church’s website, the said class will be based on the book “The Language of Science and Faith” by Francis Collins and Karl Giberson. Besides, they mentioned that atheistic naturalists and fundamentalist Christians have a significant disagreement on some issues.

Both mainly agree that an individual could not be a Christian and believe in ancient life forms governed by the laws of natural selection. Yet, the website revealed that some groups of scientists believe in the fundamental laws of physics and biology. In contrast, they have also committed to Christianity.

The church also noted that the said book is available from Amazon and other sources. But it is not mandatory to buy the book to participate in the said class.

The Language of Science and Faith

The IVP website posted the introduction from the book “The Language of Science and Faith: Straight Answers to Genuine Questions.”

The book noted that Christians believe that everything exists because of God. While Science often explains nature without God in the picture. The author of the said book, Karl Giberson and Francis Collins, wrote that Christians feel forced to decide between science and faith.

But, they stated that the good news is that believers do not have to decide. According to them, science accepts the Bible. Faith does not mandate neglecting science. These famous scientists illustrate how Christians could welcome both perspectives. The website noted that their extraordinary explanation reveals how God cares for and deals with his creation. In comparison, science offers a trusted way to understand the world He made.

With the collaboration of both scientists, they have given clear answers to the most common questions individuals ask about Darwin, evolution, and the age of the earth. They were able to address the issues in the Bible, God’s existence, and the universe. The website also noted that these authors consider their opinions against the new atheists and creationists.

The website revealed that the authors removed the false conclusion of Christians and atheists about science and evolution from the fundamental research results in astronomy, physics, and genetics. The author found the narrative of the grandeur and beauty of a world made by a supreme God.

About Karl Giberson

They also highlighted the fact that Karl Giberson is an international scholar, speaker, and writer. He has written or co-authored nine books. He also had experience lecturing on science and religion at the Vatican and many prestigious American venues.

Meet Francis Collins

Another author of the aforementioned book is Francis Collins. According to the website, he is a famous physician-geneticist worldwide. They noted that he is popular for discovering the causes of many human genetic illnesses.

Collins is also renowned for spearheading the Human Genome Project. The said program produced the first complete process of human DNA in 2003.

In 2006, he published the book “The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief.” The website added that his book had spent fourteen weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
