Rock Church will hold "Class E Evangelizing the Lost" on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Otay Ranch Town Center.

The church’s event explained that the class is the fourth part of its Life Class series.

As added on the website, participants will understand the church’s purpose in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others.

During this course, members could learn methods to serve in the work of evangelism at Rock Church, as further mentioned on the website. They said that they would teach the principles of empowerment.

Moreover, Class E will help the congregation to create and share their experiences with others.  The Rock Church encouraged members to join the session as it could help them establish the foundation of their life at the Rock Church.

Life Class at the Rock Church

According to the Life Class section, this is a place where members can discover their purpose by impacting their lives and those around them. The Rock Church offers four classes in their Life Class.

They noted that the first series is about loving their community. The church holds this class every first Sunday of the month, wherein they will focus on learning the history, mission, and vision of the church.

In this lesson, the members will also discover their vital role in living in a community, as further explained on the website.

Besides, on the second Sunday of every month, Life Class centers the topic to “Impacting Ministry.” They said the church pastors would help participants discover their unique designs through personal assessments.

In this lesson, the members could discover methods to serve and explore opportunities in the ministry so they could make a difference.

More importantly, the third Sunday will be about Faithful Stewardship, as the website posted.

Rock Church teaches its congregation to know the principle of stewardship and how crucial it is to be generous.

They added that in this course, members would know more about how to be a faithful manager of their time, talent, and treasure.

Prioritizing Church Evangelism

According to Thom Rainer, the founder and CEO of the Church Answers website, evangelism is dying in many churches in this generation. He explained that the data tells that the measure of any church group today is far different from how they were 30 years ago.

On his website, he revealed some reasons why evangelizing to others should be one of the top priorities in the church.  The first factor he emphasized is that evangelism is Christ’s command.

Rainer mentioned that many Christians referred to this command as the great commission written in Mathew 28:18-20. He added that evangelism is seen in the New Testament because Jesus asked His disciples to do it.

More importantly, he said that churches should focus on reaching out to people because Jesus is the only way to salvation. He stated that “salvation is exclusive.” He emphasized the scripture in John 14:6, where Jesus told John that He is the way, the truth, and the life.

In the scripture, Jesus emphasized that He is the only way for people to get to His Father. The website noted that Jesus is expressing an urgent and exclusive message with these statements.
