Marriage at Saddleback
The Marriage Ministry section emphasized that the church is present to help couples be equipped, empowered, renewed, and healed as a couple.
They added that no matter what the status of a married couple has, they want to assist them in having a happy and healthy marriage.
In line with this, the church holds various activities for couples to strengthen their union. Such programs are Small Groups, Couples Night Out, and Couples Counseling.
The website said that small groups are a wonderful place to create new friends with other couples working hard for a happy and healthy relationship.
Usually, groups consist of three to six partners who meet weekly for Bible study, prayer, and friendship. The ministry also said that the church has 100s of Married Couples and Small groups gathering around Orange County on various days and times throughout the week.
Moreover, Night Outs for couples is a date night with a group of other teams in the church.
They said on the website that these seasonal events are a fun and relaxing moment of connecting with other partners while learning tips on how to have a wonderful marriage.
Love Languages
The Focus on the Family website revealed the five love languages that show love emotionally. According to Garry Chapman, each individual has a primary love language that people must know to speak if they want that person to feel loved.
Firstly, they discussed the Words of Affirmation.
Chapman mentioned that if a spouse’s primary love language is an affirmation, spoken praise and appreciation of their partner will bloom in dry soil.
He added that before long, they would see new life sprouting in their marriage as their partner responds to their words of love.
Another love language is the Acts of Service. The website noted that these people believe in the saying “action speaks louder than words.” Chapman said that for some individuals, serving them is already true love.
Besides, receiving gifts is another way of expressing love. They mentioned that these gifts are not expensive, but the thought matters. Some would appreciate quality time, which is the fourth love language. The website said that giving undivided attention is one of the best ways to show their love for their partners who want quality time.
Lastly, the website mentioned that another primary love language is Physical Touch. Chapman said that people have long known the emotional power of physical touch.
This effect is why people pick up babies and touch them tenderly, as posted on the website.
