It is a time for fellowship and refreshment in the Word of God for the women of Pacific Hope Church on their retreat at Ayres Laguna Woods from July 8 to July 10.
As posted on their church Women's Ministry page, their theme is, “I am weak, but He is Strong.” They said that they had chosen this theme to be reminded of Christ’s promise through what the Apostle Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, wherein he boasted about his weaknesses so that the power of Jesus Christ might rest upon him.
The church encouraged women to participate and discover what God says about His plans and promises in their struggles. They said that women would be motivated in hoping to follow God’s grace and power.
Women of Hope
The Women of Hope is the women’s program of the Pacific Hope Church, as posted on their webpage. It is a part of the whole discipleship ministry of the church.
The elders supervised and oversaw the said ministry.
They mentioned that it is led by a group of women who regularly gather to be accountable and to develop leadership skills.
They also said they met to pray and plan for the said ministry.
Moreover, the church created the Women of Hope to motivate and equip women to think and live according to God’s words.
The webpage added that they want every woman to know Christ and do the Lord’s requirements. That commandment is to do justice, love, and walk humbly with God. The church based it on the book of Micah 6:8.
Women in Church
The Church of Jesus Christ website noted that women are an essential part of the plan of happiness.
They added that ladies participate in the work of salvation, which includes missionary work, change retention, and activating less-active congregants.
They also work with temple and family history tasks, teaching the gospel and caring for the poor and vulnerable.
Besides, they mentioned that as followers of Jesus Christ, every woman in the Church is responsible for knowing and defending the divine roles of women.
These roles include wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
They stand firm and unshakeable in faith, family, and relief, as posted on the website.
They added that women work in councils that oversee global congregational programs.
The website also noted that these women have an extraordinary gift and are accountable for home and children.
They are called by divine nature to nurture their homes and other settings.
Women’s Ministry, Crucial
In line with this, the SBTC website revealed how important a women’s ministry is in local churches. They said that women need emotionally safe environments. They feel safest sharing their hearts, asking questions, requesting prayer, and speaking up when they’re with other women.
The website added that Southern women are sometimes taught to be quiet in men's presence, which is mannerly and respectful.
Some are quiet because they misunderstand 1 Timothy 2:12, while others are shy or embarrassed to express their feelings before men. The website said that this is also common in women who have experienced abuse.
Regardless, women need godly fellowship, as emphasized on the website.
