Freedom in Christ, Women’s Bible Study

Skyline Church invites all women to its 3 – sessions of women's Bible study. According to the church webpage, “Untangled” sprung from Hebrews 12:1-2. The Bible study is a recurring event at Skyline Church, happening every Thursday.

The Untangled Women’s Bible study’s venue is the Kids Auditorium at Rancho San Diego Campus in La Mesa. It encourages women to join ladies from the church as they explore drawbacks to their spiritual journeys that often ignite from culture, conflict, or desire for autonomy and from the great desire to remain in control of their lives.

According to Skyline Church, this upcoming Bible study will help participants get untangled from these and other issues that hinder them from living their victorious lives of freedom in Jesus Christ.

Participants will meet in – person at the Skyline Kids Auditorium.

Hebrews 12:1-2

“Lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us so we can ‘run with endurance the race set before us.”

Full of Eyes presented and explained the message of Hebrews 12:1-2. According to its website, the passage reveals three truths. First, the author of Hebrews declared that life is a race.

It is a long-distance race that requires endurance and focuses from all individuals. Moreover, the believers are called to lay aside all the burden and sin which clings so closely to them; that they might run the race intended for them, with eyes always focusing on Christ.

Next, believers must prepare themselves to endure. Full of Eyes stated that weight does not necessarily mean sin. People may have habits that might hamper them from pursuing Jesus with their full, healthy, and enduring stride.

These habits may include social media and other entertainment platforms or personal goals. According to Full of Eyes, this means the author of Hebrews encourages everyone to watch their lives and heart closely for anything that might keep them from finishing the race.

Finally, is the motivation of the race. According to Full of Eyes, the runner is provided with the best motives to dispose of these weights and clinging sins.

“…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:2

This passage shows that this motive drives New Testament believers. At this point, the reward that Moses sought was Jesus Christ.

Additionally, Full of Eyes declared that the crucified and risen Savior – Jesus, should be the focal point of everyone’s lives. Jesus is the North Star and horizon.

He is the finish line and the eyes and heart of everyone. Everyone should fix their imagination on Jesus Christ.

Skyline Church Women’s Ministries are part of the small groups that meet every week. According to the website, small groups are key aspects of the church.
