Notable Programs, Ministries
Every church has something unique or noteworthy about them. This church is the Hearing Assistance, Mobility Concerns, and the Flower Guild & Ministry.
Hearing Assistance
St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church makes sure to aid its challenged members. It offers a Hearing Loop system in the sanctuary. According to its website, those who have a hearing aid with a T-coil setting can hear the service broadcast directly through their hearing aids.
While others may check out a portable headset and receiver, those with earbuds can bring them to church and plug them into the receivers. The head usher is available most Sundays and will answer any question about the hearing assistance available.
Mobility Concerns
St. Dunstan’s facilities provide complete and easy access for people who are in wheelchairs or use walkers. The sanctuary offers facilities such as a ramp for wheelchair access. Every pew has wheelchair space on the outer end.
Moreover, the restrooms for both men and women are spacious enough to accommodate wheelchairs. The parking lot and front entrance, and the memorial garden street access are all fully accessible.
Flower Guild & Ministry
As per its website, the Flower Guild & Ministry are ways to get involved in the church.
The Flower Guild is responsible for beautiful arrangements every week. It works in teams of two, and each is responsible for one week in one month. The Flower Guild is always open for new members. They always create two large arrangements for the sanctuary.
Ushers carry the large flower arrangements to the Parish House after services. From here, the Flower Guild volunteers rearrange them into smaller bouquets. These flowers are to be sent to community members. The Flower Ministry is responsible for the task of organizing flower arrangers and drivers to make deliveries.
They are delivered as thanks to service, in honor of birthdays or anniversaries, and to the sick and shut-ins. A notecard with prose makes the flowers unique. The prose says,
“These flowers have been graced by their presence at the altar of God during a worship service at St. Dunstan's church. It is our earnest prayer on this occasion that in beauty and fragrance they now carry God's love”.
