Young people of the Awaken Chruch are excited to hold the First High School Prom where the MET Gala meets Holywood on the red carpet on April 30 from 7 p.m to 10 p.m at San Marcos Campus.

The church's Facebook page announced that participants need to come prepared to dance the night away because they might be surprised at who they will see on the red carpet.

They also noted that those interested might buy their tickets on the said website. They reminded participants that the said event is for high school students only and formal attire is required.

Awaken Youth; High School

Awaken Youth High School ministry is a dedicated ministry of Awaken Church, as informed on the church’s website. They said that they exist to create an impact on the city that brings change through Jesus Christ. As posted on their website, they meet every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Besides, they addressed a message to the parents of these young people. They mentioned that they believe their teen has a calling and destiny from God. The church emphasized that they are very passionate about bringing the said calling and seeing their teen fulfill God's dream for their life.

They ensure that Awaken Youth is a venue where they enrich their child to be a leader of influence. The church mentioned that they want to work with parents to set their children to flourish in everything they do,

What Happens at Awaken Youth Service

The church website also informed members of what happens during their Youth Service. They said they include entertainment, music, snacks, and fellowship from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Because they desire to connect every young people with a leader and a new companion.

Then, they added that they have a service that has praise, worship, and games from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Youth would also have the chance to listen to inspiring preaching and an opportunity to pray for anyone who needs prayer. Afterward, they would have an afterparty from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m where the young people would play various games, dance, and fellowship.

As for their safety, the church stated that they had a background check and screening for every youth leader over 18 years old. They added that they have one leader for five to eight young people. They also hire an Off Duty Officer (ODO) for their security system. They assure parents that their top priority is their child’s safety.

Although their leaders are not babysitters, parents, or professionals, they are appointed to love and lead their youth, as noted on their website. They see them as coaches, representing how to live a life after God and make wise decisions.

During the said service, the church also plays music that everyone can relate to, but they guarantee that they do not play explicit songs. They added that their purpose for playing edited secular music is to find it easier to connect with the unbelievers. To some, the church is a new and inconvenient place, but when they play the music they are familiar with, they feel more at ease and open to being a part of their services.
