The Church at Rancho Bernado (RB) will hold a Christmas party for the seniors residing in Brookview Village on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The church’s website noted that they look forward to blessing the residents through the event. They encouraged the members to help them in their preparation and serving. They added that they could join to make new friends on the program.

The Church at RB suggested its members sing or play games during the party. They noted that they could be flexible to bond with the residents and have fun.

The website said this party was a family-friendly event so all family members could join.

San Diego Interfaith Housing Foundation

Brookview Village is under the San Diego Interfaith Housing Foundation (SDIHF) management. On its website, it noted that they have been providing the housing needs of people in San Diego since 1968.

In addition, they seek to improve the lives of low and middle-wage earners: families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. They want to achieve their purpose by offering affordable housing, as mentioned on the website.

According to SDHIF, they have improved over 1,500 price-friendly apartment homes in the county. They added that they had enhanced thousands of families' living standards.

As further explained, the foundation takes a role in identifying the site and analyzing the negotiation of complex purchase contracts. They noted that they are also in charge of checking the financing packages.

More importantly, SDIHF also has a lot of experience monitoring development groups, as added on the website. The website said they are experts in choosing architects, engineers, contractors, and management firms.

Quality of Excellence

On the same website, the foundation noted that they maintain their communities to the highest quality and excellence. They revealed that SDIHF is well-respected by industry groups, including the San Diego Housing Commission.

In addition, the San Diego Housing Federation and Central City Association highly respect the foundation, as highlighted on the website. Also, they mentioned that the Fannie Mae Foundation had acknowledged several communities of SDIHF.

Pioneered by Local Churches

According to SDIHF, local churches pioneered the foundation to make a living atmosphere that supports and motivates residents to pursue additional learnings and set job-training goals.

As further explained, the foundation provides Resident Services where they could have onsite training. These programs could help them financially and personally independent, as mentioned on the website.

In addition, through the foundation’s efforts, the residents could be empowered and responsive to be part of the neighborhood, as the website noted.

Residential Services

In another section, SDIHF revealed that many of its communities have specialized services for families and elders. They said that families could acquire various classes and programs to guide and help parents engage their kids.

More importantly, the website emphasized that the elders enjoy resources and activities to develop relationships and active, self-reliant living.

They explained that the foundation’s services for families are available at Brighton Place, Lillian Place, and Metro Villas. Besides, as mentioned on the website, its senior services are offered at Redwood Villa, Coronado Seniors, and Renaissance at North Park.

In addition, they stated that Brookview Village and Iowa Street also have services for senior citizens.
