The Church at Rancho Bernardo (RB) will host Joy in the Journey Retreat 2022 for foster and adoptive mothers from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 14 to 16, at the Cedar Lake Camp in Big Bear, C.A.

The church’s announcement said it would be a weekend full of motivation and bonding with other foster and adoptive mothers. They noted that they welcome other denominations to join the said retreat.

As further mentioned, the retreat would have main and breakout sessions. Participants will also enjoy worship programs and bonding moments. As added on the website, they would have the time for recreation, rest, and rejuvenation with God and other ladies on the same journey.

Experiencing Various Opportunities

According to the same website, the three-day getaway would give foster and adoptive moms the chance to buy from their vendors. The collected funds would go towards adoption, foster care, first family, or orphan families, as the church noted.

More importantly, women would have the opportunity to relate with other foster or adoptive mothers who understand their situation.

Joy in the Journey Ministry

The Joy in the Journey Ministry website stated that they want to strengthen relationships between adoptive and foster families. They want to integrate a connection with hope, support, and growth.

Moreover, as emphasized on the website, they want to develop their faith through this ministry. They desire a community that helps one another through difficult concerns in adoption and foster care.

Besides, Joy in the Journey Ministry wants these families to encounter Jesus Christ no matter what their situations are.

Bible-based Ministry

According to the website, the ministry is rooted in the teachings and inspirations of the Bible. They hold on to the belief that the Bible has the ultimate power and the most beautiful role mode of adoption.

The Bible demonstrated examples of caring for others as everyone is God’s child, as posted on the website. The ministry desires to continuously motivate their community as they believe that God’s word is the most natural form of encouragement.

Educating to Foster, Adoptive Families

The same website emphasized that the ministry works hard in educating adoptive and foster families. They offer online learning and host social events such as retreats for mothers.

As further discussed, mothers participate in twelve educational hours, which are certified. They added that they could use this certification as continuing education (CE) hours through various agencies.

The ministry also explained that educating adoptive and foster families serves as a motivation for assisting parents to be updated on current issues.

These learnings could give them hope that they will be aware of dealing with those concerns once they deal with them in their houses, as added on the website.

Cedar Lake Camp

The ministry’s venue section mentioned that the Big Bear, California, Cedar Lake is a campsite surrounded by the San Bernandino Natural Forest. The site highlights an exclusive lake and fantastic mountain scenery, as posted on the website.

The website emphasized that visitors would not want to leave the place once they see its beauty.
