Last year, the church’s website posted that Christmas Under the Stars was featured on Kusi-News in 2020.

According to Pastor John Hoffman, the lead pastor of the Grove Church, Christmas Under the Stas is a family-fun event to celebrate Christmas for free.

On their tenth-year celebration, Hoffman Highlighted that they would be showing Home Alone since everyone is staying at home during that period.  He added that they would provide free chocolates and desserts.

Pastor Hoffman also emphasized that they made sure they followed all city guidelines. They had social distancing, and their shuttles are open-air, as further explained.

Besides, he noted that Mt. Helix Drive is a beautiful spot for the celebration.

As mentioned in the video, they seek to offer hope and joy to everyone in San Diego. Besides, Hoffman stressed that this event is an excellent time to give.

Although he stated that the event is free for all, they are raising funds to support various organizations that help vulnerable people in the county and outside their borders.

Hoffman explained that they are collecting donations to help organizations such as Grace and Coz Esperanzas.

That year, they supported Never Thirst, an organization that allows people access clean water. He stressed that so many people are suffering because of not having water.

Meanwhile, Hoffman revealed a lot of reports about groups struggling during that moment. He stated that the church wants to give them hope. He said in the interview that Christmas is about joy.

He emphasized that the most significant risk of the pandemic is moving forward in life without having joy.

About Never Thirst

According to the Never Thirst website, the organization is designed to provide clean and living water to communities that are out of reach worldwide. They explained that their mission is to serve people in remote and rugged places to reach.

In addition, the website works with local partners to provide clean and living water to vulnerable neighborhoods throughout Africa and Asia.

The website highlighted that Never Thirst serves eight nations in Africa and Southeast Asia. They give clean drinking water and hygienic ways through the local church. They added that they aim to introduce God to other places and let them be saved.
