Pastor Miles McPherson joined Good Morning San Diego and shared how the church was preparing for the event. KUSI News Paul Rudy interviewed Pastor Miles and thanked him for opening the doors of Rock Church for the 22nd PPR Silver Pigskin Gala.
Pastor Miles started playing football first and became a youth pastor as shared in the interview. Football and kids are his life, and he is honored to meet all the kids from different football teams within the year.
The news anchor Paul Rudy shared that they kept a video of Pastor Miles visiting football teams and sending the message – football is family.
He further expressed his appreciation to everyone in the Rock Church for working through several nights for the PPR Silver Pigskin Gala – an event of KUSI.
According to Pastor Miles, Rock Church has a fantastic team. The church has a culture of service. The Rock Church family does this, and Pastor Miles was excited to have the football players and athletes at the Rock Church.
Pastor Miles declared that the PPR Pigskin Silver Gala would be an extraordinary and memorable affair that kids will remember in their lifetime.
According to the report, Pastor Miles will be part of the program and present the first-ever Like a Rock Award.
As stated by Paul Rudy, the award goes to a young man who has been a rock in his community, rock in the team, or rock in school.
Pastor Miles was hopeful that there would be more receivers of the Rock Award in the years to come. Moreover, he wished that the event would allow young people to see the value of serving and giving back to the community.
It is part of the culture of San Diego. The pastor further stated that it makes San Diego one of the greatest cities in the world.
