New attendees at Trinity Presbyterian Church are welcomed with a welcome brunch after the service on June 26 at their multipurpose room.
The church announced that the event is for anyone who has begun attending the church within the last three months. They hold the brunch every quarter for the newcomers to have an opportunity to listen to what the church is and meet its workers.
New attendees could also ask questions during this brunch and learn about the following processes. The webpage also noted that they could bring their kids of all ages.
New Planted Church
According to the church’s values section, Trinity exists to create and train believers of Jesus for the good of others. They revealed that they are a new church plant of Redeemer San Diego aiming to witness individuals live like Jesus in their city.
Besides, Jonathan and Danielle Kerhoulas relocated their family from Boston to work at Redeemer in 2014.
They worked with the Redeemer team and spent a few years discovering San Diego. The website noted that they had started praying about ministering to a new church.
It was in the summer of 2018 that the plans for Trinity had started to develop, and members of Redeemer were motivated to prayerfully decided to be part of the new church.
The webpage stated that after months of planning and prayer, a core group of about 50 participated. Then over 100 members assisted in the launching of Trinity on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.
Exist to Make, Mature Followers
The church also emphasized that they are designed and animated by the gospel, which means “good news.”
They added that the good news of Christianity says that the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are why people are loved, forgiven, and valued.
More importantly, they believe that being a Believer is more than just an empty traditionalism or impersonal spirituality.
The website said that it is a proclamation that, through Jesus Christ, Christians have been made righteous and accessible.
This salvation is given for Christians to work with God in his relentless effort to set the world to rights.
Importance of Welcome Ministry
The Church Answers website stated that the church's welcome ministry, or whatever the churches call it, is more critical now than ever.
First, it is because church members return to church after a long absence. The COVID-19 pandemic kept these people away.
The website said many have returned, but not all did. Some are going back into church carefully and slowly.
The welcome ministry needs to motivate these returning members to get back into shape and into the habit of meeting often.
Moreover, they mentioned that new visitors were coming.
During the lockdown, several new residents relocated to the community. The website added that they had not had a chance to visit a church, but they were now.
For some unchurched individuals, the pandemic's effects have led them to ask questions about God, church, and faith. They said some would show up at the church near them.
The website also mentioned that the welcome ministry in every church is important because first impressions are crucial.
They said some visitors have not been to a church for months, probably even a few years, and the first few moments after they arrive at the church are vital.
They could return or decide it is not worth the risk and effort.
