Village Church will host a spring choral concert on Sunday, April 2, in preparation for Easter.
The event will showcase the talents of the Village Community Chorale, as well as soloists and performers from the San Diego and Pacific Symphony Orchestras.
Spring Concert
According to Ranch Sta. Fe Review, the concert's theme will revolve around the promise of eternal life and the feelings of hope and comfort it brings.
It will honor the triumph of Christ over death and will focus on the musical works of Gabriel Faure, a 19th-century composer and church organist from Paris.
According to Juan Carlos Acosta, the director of music ministries at the Village Church, Faure's musical creation is highly acclaimed worldwide and has been performed in many countries.
Faure's composition, based on elements of the Requiem, a traditional Catholic mass performed at funerals, was groundbreaking for its time due to its more intimate concert setting.
The news release also stated that the concert would showcase the exceptional music of John Rutter.
Rutter is a prominent English composer and choral conductor who incorporated elements from Faure's work, as well as those of Brahms, Mozart, and the Anglican choral tradition.
That said, attendees of the concert will have the pleasure of hearing two magnificent and impactful musical compositions that evoke feelings of hope, tranquility, and solace for the living.
The performance is scheduled to take place in the sanctuary of the Village Church, located at 6225 Paseo Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe.

The concert, which featured pianist Lang Lang and was conducted by Jahja Ling, was a huge success and sold out.
Following the performance, the orchestra embarked on a China Friendship Tour from Nov. 1 to 11, which included concerts in Shanghai, Yantai (San Diego's "Sister City"), and Beijing.
