Fashionable clothes from Chico’s are waiting for First United Methodist Church ladies as they hold Spring Fashions & Tea on May 14 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church’s Linder Hall.
The church’s website announced that women could enjoy watching new outfits. There would also be a wonderful lunch and tea, so the church encourages women members to invite their friends.
They also noted that the registration for adults is $20 and $10 for children 12 years and below.
United Methodist Women (UMW)
They highlighted that First Church has several groups of eight to twelve ladies on the same website. Each circle meets together once a month to foster spiritual maturity. Also, they meet to learn about programs regarding women and children. The church also added that the said program is to build a social network of like-minded women.
UMW Circles also gathers quarterly to uplift and conduct some informative events, the church mentioned. According to them, their goal in their activities includes helping New Entra Casa, a reentry program for women. These said events support Neighborhood House Calexico.
Besides, UMW creates health and hygiene kits for the homeless. They also stated that they hold church-wide events like Christmas tea. They aim to turn faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of ladies worldwide.
New Entra Casa
One of the goals of UMW is to collaborate with New Entra Casa. Their website emphasized that they are a safe harbor from a raging sea. They noted that they have a six-bed residential perinatal program.
New Entra Casa was founded by the Wesleyan Service Guide in 1972, as posted on their website. The said shelter was pioneered by a group of business and professional women in the United Methodist Church. They highlighted that they received a $3,000 donation from an anonymous person who made it possible to rent a house on Mt. Ararat Drive and open doors for women released from jail.
In 1988, they received another monetary gift from two benefactresses, Mrs. Ann McAdams and Mrs. JOan Kroc, letting them buy the property they currently operate on Pershing Avenue in North Park.
They got their license and certification from the State of California and the Department of Health Care Services. Moreover, they mentioned that they use trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment approaches. This method is to make sure that they are providing a high-quality service.
Their Commitment
They also mentioned that because of their deep understanding of the illness of addiction, New Entra Casa is dedicated to assisting individuals in healing from drug abuse. Also, they wanted to help with co-existing menthol health disorders.
More importantly, the website noted that they give personal counseling in addition to groups that combine evidence-based approaches. They also offer the 12-step and holistic therapy models to deal with the other cause of addiction and trauma. They added that they seek to educate and promote maturity. Also, they desire to let the healing start at every level, including their mind, spirit, and body.
