On March 7, World Vision Ignite will host a V.I.P. Dinner event before the Converge Global Christian School Leadership Summit on the next day. The dinner happens at 5 p.m. at Town and Country San Diego 500 Hotel Circle North, Sunset Room.

As announced on the Eventbrite website, World Vision Ignite invites Christian school leaders to join other executives from various Christian institutions for a special V.I.P. Dinner. The event is a preliminary to the Converge Global Christian School Leadership on March 8 to 10.
The V.I.P. Dinner is an opportunity to connect with peers over dinner and tackle what global engagement looks like at the present times. To complete this V.I.P. Dinner, attendees will hear from World Vision U.S. President and C.E.O. Edgar Sandoval, Sr.
His talk will revolve around World Vision Ignite, a learning partnership that equips U.S. students to make a significant impact in today's world, and his Christian convictions. Edgar Sandoval, Sr., will also speak about the reasons that led him to leave Venezuela and help lead a Fortune 500 company to World Vision.

As shared on World Vision's webpage, Edgar Sandoval, Sr., is the President and C.E.O. of World Vision U.S.A. He was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Central and South America. These were the places where Edgar first witnessed poverty.
Still, from World Vision's website, Sandoval Sr., has his experience of hardship at age 18, when he came back to the U.S., alone and with only $50. He worked minimum–wage jobs while learning English as a second language.
Through hard work and perseverance, he later earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and sociology from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business.
He became part of World Vision in 2015. He and his wife, Leiza, felt the calling to the ministry. As Chief Operating Officer for three years, Sandoval Sr., has led programs that created significant impact and responded to the most urgent needs in the communities.
Sandoval Sr. directed fundraising programs that raised over $1 billion in donations and strengthened financial and organizational health. Since 2018, Sandoval Sr., has been World Vision president and C.E.O.
He stressed World Vision's Christian identity and the life-changing journey of everyone involved in this institution – staff, donors, and beneficiaries. Last 2020, World Vision U.S., through his leadership, broke records with raising donations, including significant private and public funding for World Vision's COVID – 19 response.

As per its website, with the World Vision Ignite curriculum, students discover poverty and injustice and are empowered to act today. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization.
Its efforts are directed towards improving the status of children, families, and communities worldwide. The organization addresses the cause of poverty and injustice for these population to reach their full potential.
