Free Movie Screening at St. Bonaventure

According to the events page of the Oakland Diocese, a free screening of the movie Unplanned will be organized by the St. Bonaventure Catholic Community. The event will happen on Oct. 23 at 7:00 in the evening.

The post also mentioned that the organizers remind attendees that it is an R-rated film. Audience members who are under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian during the screening.

The same post also states that the movie screening will be sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the Respect Life Ministry, and the Women’s Christian Fellowship. In addition, Options Health Executive Director Blayne Wittig will be delivering a short message after the movie.

Moreover, the post said he would also be entertaining questions after his short talk. Informational materials about the topic of the film will also be distributed after the screening.

Unplanned Movie

According to the official page of the movie, it is a film that tackles one of the most divisive issues of today. Unplanned gives an inside perspective of the abortion industry from a woman who used to be its most ardent supporter.

The page also mentioned that Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman, the film's creators, were inspired to bring this amazing true tale to the big screen after discovering Abby Johnson's best-selling book of the same name, giving a platform to a woman who has been on both ends of the abortion debate.

Synopsis

The page said that Unplanned is an uplifting true story about a woman's conversion.

Abby Johnson had only ever wanted to support women. She was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic administrators, having been involved in over 22,000 abortions and counseling numerous women on their reproductive options.

The page continued to say that her zeal for a woman's right to choose pushed her to become a spokesman for Planned Parenthood, where she fought for legislation to support the cause she so strongly believed in.

Until one day, Abby Johnson witnessed something that transformed everything, driving her to join her old foes at 40 Days For Life and become one of America's most outspoken pro-life advocates.

The page also said that the parishioners take their call to spread the light of Christ to the world seriously, empowered by worship and molded by faith.
