In the continuous campaign against abortion, the Archdiocese of Denver recently marched around Colorado's largest abortion clinic.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Catholic community joined the procession around the Planned Parenthood facility in Stapleton.

The clinic located at 7155 E 38th Ave. is reportedly one of the largest abortion facilities in the country. It is next to other huge clinics found in Houston, Texas, and Bronx, New York.

Denver Catholic reported that more than 400 Catholics took part in the event.

Participants of the pro-life procession included Catholics from different parishes around the archdiocese. Seminarians from St. John Vianney Theological Seminary and members of Sisters of Life also graced the event.

Pro-life Procession

According to the report, the march started at the garden of Mirasol Health, a pro-life clinic. It is located on the same block across Planned Parenthood.

Mirasol Health operates under the supervision of the Archdiocese of Denver. The clinic's licensed medical professionals have been helping women with their reproductive health. They assist women in making decisions about an unexpected pregnancy and giving birth.

Participants marched three times around the abortion facility. They also offered benediction back at the Mirasol Health garden.

During the procession, Msgr. Bernie Schmitz, Fr. Dough Grandon, and Fr. Nick Larkin switched places in presenting the Eucharist. Two men also carried the framed image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The Archdiocese of Denver organized the pro-life Eucharistic procession. They reportedly aim to highlight the "40 Days for Life" movement. They also emphasized the spiritual remedies are effective in healing wounds from abortion.

After the procession, participants celebrated a Holy Mass at the Respect Life Denver's office, as Catholic News Agency (CNA) reported.

Respect Life Director Lynn Grandon encouraged participants to pray for Planned Parenthood staff. They particularly asked prayers for Abby Johnson. She will serve as a witness to the pro-life cause.

Peaceful Prayer Rally

According to Respect Life Community Coordinator Maria Elisa Olivas, several Hispanic Catholics also joined the pro-life march.

She noted how the Hispanics believed in the strength of God and how it results in having a peaceful and loving life.

Meanwhile, one of the St. Vincent de Paul participants said he felt a "gentle peace" while sharing prayer and adoration.

Susie Cheshire, a parishioner, said it was wonderful to be joined by people of all ages. She shared their activities as they gathered in prayer and spoke up for the voiceless in the community.

Another participant was Gianna Smith, a sophomore student at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Classical School.

Smith said she felt the power of group prayer and the Eucharist circling the abortion clinic.

The young student said she wanted to be a part of the movement against abortion as her mother taught her how terrible it is. Smith also believed it is important for the young generation to join such activities.

"I know God especially listens to young people praying, and with such an important issue as abortion is, I don't even mind giving up a Saturday," she added.
