Archdiocese of Denver releases list of official appointments

The Archdiocese of Denver recently announced the new 28 official appointments joining the Church, per the Denver Catholic article.

Meanwhile, others were appointed to Frederick, Westminster, Fort Collins, Windsor, etc.

Denver Appointees

Effective Sept. 23, Very Rev. William Clemence will serve as Rector of the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary for three years.

Rev. John Ezratty, M.C. was given Presbyteral Faculties on Oct. 1. His appointment will last until the conclusion of his service. 

Until Jan. 1, 2023, he will dwell in the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. After that date, he will move to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Mission Church. 

Serving the college and university students on the Auraria Campus is a part of his ministry.

As of Oct. 6, Rev. Restom Amine, O.F.M. Cap, has been given Presbyteral Faculties until the conclusion of his assignment with the Capuchin Province of Mid-America. 

His main responsibility is pastoral care to the Catholic Ge'ez Rite Community. He will dwell in St. Francis Friary.

Rev. Antonio J. Flores Cota, C.R., also offered the position in the Presbyteral Faculties effective immediately.

He will also reside in St. Andrew Avellino Seminary.

On Nov. 12, Rev. Jason Moore, O.F.M. Cap., was given presbyteral faculties until his assignment with the Capuchin Province of Mid-America. 

His main responsibility will be in the jail ministry. He will dwell at San Antonio Friary.

As of Sept. 1, ad nutum archiepiscopi, Rev. Richard Castro Huergo, M.C., has been awarded Presbyteral Faculties.

He was also named Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Parish.

After that, he will dwell at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception until Jan. 1, 2023.

With an effective date of Sept. 15, the Very Reverend Thomas B. Curran, S.J., has been appointed as the Superior of the Regis University Jesuit Community.

He has also been given Presbyteral Faculties of the Archdiocese of Denver. 

From Sept. 15 until May 12, 2023, Rev. Mr. Kevin Emil Kasel has been given the Diaconal Faculties position of the Archdiocese of Denver.

He was also assigned to Diaconal Ministry at Christ the King Parish.

Rev. Mr. Anthony Due Huan Phan will join him. He was also assigned to Diaconal Ministry at Most Precious Blood Parish.

With effect from Nov. 1 until Jun. 30, 2025, Rev. Keith Windsor, O.F.M. Cap., was given Presbyteral Faculties and assigned to Deliverance Ministry. 

From Nov. 1 to Jun. 30, 2025, Rev. Eric Zegeer will be the Denver Guild of the Catholic Medical Association chaplain. 

Along with that, he was also chosen to serve as the parochial administrator for Sacred Heart Parish.

Other Appointees

Until Jul. 31, 2025, Very Rev Samuel Morehead, V.F., has been named Dean of the Central East.

Meanwhile, Very Reverend David Bluejacket, V.F., has been named Dean of the East Deanery.

On the other hand, Very Reverend Joseph Tran, V.F., has been appointed Dean of the West Deanery.

As for Very Reverend Angel Perez-Brown, V.F., he has been named Dean of the Greeley Deanery.

Meanwhile, Very Reverend Simon Kalonga, V.F., has been named Dean of the Fort Collins Deanery.

On the other hand, Very Reverend John Hilton, V.F., has been named Dean of the Southeast Deanery.

Very Rev Peter Wojda, V.F. has been named Dean of the Western Slope Deanery.

And as for Very Rev James S. Spahn, V.F., he has been appointed again as Dean of the Northeast Deanery.
