To lower crime in Minneapolis, Rev. Jerry McAfee, the creator of the "21 Days of Peace" initiative, collaborates with local authorities. Government officials launched "Operation Endeavor" to combat the city's increasing crime rate, which enlists the help of religious leaders.

Community Effort

During a news conference, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey revealed the program initiative to the public: "Operation Endeavor." This program will be able to identify places where crime is having a significant impact and give the necessary resources. The information will be determined utilizing data.

Frey claims that he collaborates closely with federal, state, and other community leaders to address the problem. He noted that the city has set aside $1 million to $1.2 million for a recruitment drive to hire more cops, according to a source

Partnerships with religious leaders are another aspect of Operation Endeavor. One such partner is Rev. Jerry McAfee of New Salem Baptist Church, who founded the "21 Days of Peace" initiative. He claimed that recently, he has been working on getting in touch with young kids in the neighborhood who might be at risk of using violence.

Citywide business owners will be keeping an eye on Operation Endeavor to see how it performs in reality.

McAfee Supports "Operation Endeavor"

McAfee said he is working with Lisa Clemons, the founder of "A Mother's Love," to reach young people at risk of committing violent crimes in the neighborhood. McAfee declared his support for "Operation Endeavor."

His team has long pushed for resources for job training, mental health care, and other issues. The "21 Days of Peace" effort stationed religious leaders and community organizations at troublesome intersections to intervene before crime happens, similar to MPD's targeted enforcement details, kare112.com posted.

"21 Days of Peace"

The "21 Days of Peace" is 21 days for which prayer, perseverance, and presence are deliberately activated to reclaim communities.

To counteract the rising criminality in the neighborhood, there will be extra foot patrols and bike patrols downtown. Alexander emphasized that the data would pave the way and provide flexibility in allocating resources to various parts of the city, a source posted.

According to a report from the previous year, Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo received a standing ovation at the Shiloh Temple in north Minneapolis before he started speaking. Arradondo distributed congratulations to the numerous participants in 21 Days of Peace.

Participants have been establishing connections with people they encounter on the streets, organizing gatherings at times where food and Bibles are distributed.

Increasing Police Force

To counteract the rising criminality in the neighborhood, there will be extra foot patrols and bike patrols downtown. Additionally, the program will work with Freeman's office to organize investigations, and a particular prosecutor has been included.

Mayor Frey and Dr. Cedric Alexander unveiled the program. Dr. Cedric Alexander stated that coordination would not result in removing officers but would better utilize internal resources, such as the violence interrupter initiative, CBS News posted.

He continued by saying that the city has set aside $1 to $1.2 million for a recruitment drive to increase the number of police in Minneapolis.
