New President of Minnesota Dental Association

Dr. Tim Holland received his undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1988 and his doctor of dental surgery from the University of Minnesota in 1992. After that, according to PR Newswire, he committed his time to the Minneapolis VA Hospital's General Practice Residency.

A longtime member of the MDA, he has contributed to the organization in several capacities, including on the Dental Education Committee, the Dental Marketplace Committee, and the Dental Practice and Operations Task Force.

It also stated that Holland is very involved in the volunteer work that goes on in his community. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Children's Remedial Fund and as a board member and collaborative dentist for the organization Let's Smile.

At the Owatonna Free Dental Clinic, he donates both his time and his skills as a volunteer. In addition to that, he is an active participant in the NOW Spear Study Club and a member of the Spear Faculty Club.

Holland is active in both the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both religious organizations. He also enjoys traveling and playing golf on a competitive level in his spare time when he is not practicing dentistry.

There are more than three thousand dentists and dental students in Minnesota, all of whom are represented by the Minnesota Dental Association, a professional membership organization.

According to the organization, the scope of practice and public oral health and safety are two areas the MDA advocates for in state legislatures that represent its members.

They also represent their members' interests in discussions with government agencies and third-party payers to settle disputes and propose reforms.
