Attorney Matthew Franzese of Traverse County asked Judge Thomas Gilligan to step in on state abortion restrictions, including the 24-hour waiting time. Attorney General Keith Ellison said that he would not file the appeal.

Filing an Intervention

On Aug. 4, a conservative Catholic nonprofit and legal advocacy group, Thomas More Society,  represented Franzese in filing the intervention. They assert that Franzese can maintain the enforcement of state abortion laws, and the conclusion of Ramsey County does not apply to other authorities.

According to Erick Kaarda's petition, the abortion law has tremendous impacts on lawyers' responsibility because these create uncertainty and perplexity as the government fails to plead.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison fails to do his task; despite his lawful duty to defend Minnesota law and its enshrined law abortion restrictions, Franzese is petitioning to respond with force in a lawsuit filed by an unidentified abortionist against the state.

Doe v. Minnesota, a case brought by abortion rights activists in 2019, resulted in the July district court decision that overturned many of Minnesota's abortion laws.

John Stiles said that filing an appeal would not benefit the public since Ellison had worked hard to protect Minnesota's law. According to a source, Ellison had allocated a total of $600,000 to back up the rules, but the cases of abortions in Minnesota are still rising.

Thomas More Society as Defenders

On July 28, 2022, a federal court in Ohio issued a country-wide preliminary injunction restricting the United States Air Force from imposing its COVID-19 vaccine authorization against religious objectors.

Attorneys for the Thomas More Society, pursuing a similar case against the Air Force, were pleased with the decision. The restriction was only lifted until the decision for the trial was released.

The Thomas More Society lawyers defended Ryan Gilligan, who Craig Harrison accused, as one of the three defamation lawsuits filed by Harrison.

Craig Harrison is a Catholic priest accused of sexual abuse. Gilligan presented evidence to prove Harrison's misconduct. Gilligan's testimony details Harrison's unwanted intercourse with him and his witnessing numerous incidents of Harrison's improper conduct with minors.

The Thomas More Society is praising this remarkable success for the cause of life as the country reacts to the United States Supreme Court's decision about abortion laws on June 24, 2022.

For almost two decades and a half, the Thomas More Society has been fully involved in the standing of Roe. These lawyers represent some of the most well-known pro-life activists in the country.

Furthermore, the Thomas More Society has been directly engaged in the United States Supreme Court case history through three separate amicus/amici documents, each supporting Dobbs in the State of Mississippi's action to restrict abortion.
