The Episcopal Church has recently announced the opening of the application for the Chief Operating Officer following the retirement of the previous COO.
Interested applicants may send their applications with a letter of interest and updated resumes to EC-COO@ies-consulting.org, as reported.
The review of the applicants will be started immediately.
Chief Operating Officer Position
As per the press release from the Episcopal News Service, the Episcopal Church is looking for qualified applicants to fulfill the role of the Chief Operating Officer.
The COO will reportedly be assigned to the Episcopal Church Center at 815 Second Ave, NYC, under the Presiding Bishop, the Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry.
The position is a joint appointment of the President of the House of Deputies and the Presiding Bishop, as reported.
As mentioned, the new COO will supervise the duties of various departments of the Episcopal church.
Those departments include communication, information technology, human resources, and real estate management of DFMS-owned and leased facilities, which include 815 Second Avenue, New York City.
Also, the COO will assist the Episcopal bishop in different situations regarding programs, staff management, and the work of the staff leaders.
The qualified candidate will also serve on the Episcopal Relief & Development Board, as reported.
Moreover, the COO must verify that all the initiatives and resolutions of the General Convention and the Executive Council are adequately operated by the resources.
As further discussed, the vacant position is the chief administrative position of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society.
It also requires good standing in the Episcopal Church as a member.
The successful applicant will be appointed and will start by Jan. 2023.
