An Episcopal church in Harlem has partnered with a non-profit organization to help those in need.

The Church of the Intercession joined the Gobble Gobble Give's (GGG) effort to assist the homeless.

The charity organization was founded by philanthropist and entrepreneur Barry Walker. He is the co-founder and CEO of Tradecraft Farms.

Partnerships to Help the Homeless

Aside from the church, the organization also reportedly collaborated with The Apollo Theater. The church and the theater serve as drop-off sites for donations, according to Patch.com.

All accumulated donations will be given to local charities and organizations on Thursday, Nov. 25. The partnership strives to provide clothing, food, and toiletries to the homeless on Thanksgiving Day.

The GGG reportedly called on New Yorkers to join the initiative to help the less fortunate. The report said that the organization aims to share the spirit and tradition of thanksgiving.

In addition, the GGG also tapped the services of several organizations for this year's cause.

La Jornada Food Pantry and The Coalition for the Homeless joined the cause. The Ruth Fernandez Family Shelter also commits to the initiative.

Donation Process

Patch.com reported that those individuals who wish to donate must register first through this link.

Volunteers from the GGG NYC chapter will facilitate the collection of donations at the drop-off sites.

The volunteers are reportedly wearing masks and gloves to ensure a safe donation process.

Based on the report, essential goods and items will be distributed to shelters and organizations.

The collected items will reportedly help homeless outreach programs. It will also aid those living on the streets and families in need.

What to Donate?

As per the report, donors can contribute to the cause by donating "new and gently used" books.

They can also give children toys, new clothing, shoes, and "new and gently used" blankets.

The donation drive accepts canned and packaged food. Apart from that, they can donate toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrush, and soap.

The initiative is also looking for essential items for babies. Donors can give baby food, baby wipes, and diapers.

Furthermore, they can also send face masks, sanitizers, disinfectants, and disposable gloves. These are essential amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, GGG also offered other ways on how people can contribute to the initiative.

Individuals may purchase GGG 2021 T-shirts, which are sold at the church and the theater.

According to the organization, buying these shirts can help in covering its expenses.

Apart from that, they may also gather contributions from family, friends, and neighbors.
