2022 Border & Migration Ministry Summit

According to a press release, it will be the organization's fourth time to conduct the event. The report noted that participants for the conference will gather virtually.

The migration ministry summit will kick off on Wednesday, Mar. 30, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will then conclude on Thursday, Mar. 31, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

As reported, the event was supposed to be held in October 2021, but it was moved this year due to the lower number of COVID-19 cases.

For this conference, EMM will reportedly collaborate with the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. Thus, the organization will hold the summit in both English and Spanish language interpretations.

Accordingly, EMM has invited Episcopalians to take part in the virtual conference.

The faith-based organization advised interested individuals to fill out the online registration form.

Those who wish to attend this year's Border & Migration Ministry Summit must pay $25. Meanwhile, the Episcopal Church's migration ministry will accept registrations until Friday, Mar. 25.

Exploring Forced Migration

As per the press release, the virtual conference will try to "reflect on forced migration." The summit reportedly aims to educate and enlighten people regarding forced migration.

The event strives to dig deeper about the topic highlighting the experiences of asylum seekers. Apart from that, it will also emphasize the stories of immigrant detainees and their families.

Accordingly, this year's conference will feature presentations from keynote guest speakers.

The press release revealed that EMM had invited Karen Gonzalez. She is a non-profit specialist at World Relief.

Gonzalez has also dedicated her life advocating for the rights of immigrants, the report noted. She also authored a book titled "The God Who Sees: Immigrants, The Bible, and the Journey to Belong."

Furthermore, the social service organization will also present The Rev. Nancy Frausto. Reverend Frausto is the director of the Latinx Studies Program.

She also works as a lecturer in Latinx ministry at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.

Aside from that, the conference has also invited experts and practitioners. The panelists also consist of faith leaders and lay leaders.
