A media-circulated video of the attack on St. Patrick's Cathedral shows a man approaching the historic church and throwing an object at its glass doors.

On Nov. 2, police stated that they identified the offender as Juan Velez.

In that declaration, police stated that Velez threw a wrench at the Cathedral and shattered a window at approximately noon during the October attack.

The wrench struck the apartment of New York's Archbishop Cardinal Dolan.

According to the source, his home is a component of the church. Dolan was reportedly not at home at the time, and according to authorities, no one was injured during the incident.

Police reported that Velez "committed damage" to All Saints Episcopal Church and the "Archdiocese of New York" on Oct. 29. It is unknown which archdiocese building was assaulted, as reported.

However, a report stated that Velez threw an unknown object at the Archdiocese of New York on First Ave, breaking a glass door.

Joseph Zwilling, current director of communications for the Archdiocese of New York, told on the report that they appreciate it.

"We are grateful for the hard work of the NYPD for the serious way they responded to this disturbing incident," Zwilling added.

Investigators allege that Velez tore a flag and damaged the front doors of the East 60th Street Episcopal church.

Police stated on Nov. 3 that Velez was wanted for "a pattern of criminal mischief including hatred."

In that declaration, authorities stated that Velez shattered church doors, flags, and windows.
