Event Details
According to an article posted on the Archdiocese of Newark website, The Mercy House, one of the services of the archdiocese, will celebrate its first 'Christmas in July' event on Friday, July 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 620 Clinton Ave.
The center reportedly aims to give new gifts that are appropriate for their age to children and families who are in need for them to experience receiving a gift even not on Christmas.
The 'Christmas in July' will reportedly be a fun-filled event for children and families.
Children, parents, and guardians can avail the free ice cream at the vendor parked outside the center, as reported.
Accordingly, the toys that will be given by The Mercy House for the event were from the donations of individuals and organizations.
In addition, Cheryl A. Riley, director of the archdiocesan Respect Life Office, reportedly said that they are happy to see people who are helping and supporting their initiatives to help in the community.

On the same website, the director said that The Mercy House has been finding ways to support and serve the people in need in the community, as reported.
Thus, the 'Christmas in July' was organized. It is reportedly the extension of The Mercy House's annual event, 'Christmas Toy Giveaway,' which also gives toys and holiday gifts to people and families who have been in need since 2018.
Riley added that the Catholic ministry helps and serves everyone in the community regardless of who they are, as reported.
As a result, The Mercy House has reportedly doubled the number of beneficiaries since January, mostly women who are pregnant.
The center reportedly accepts donations for the following needs:
- nonperishable food
- baby wipes

As reported, the center is open on Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
