Palmcroft Church will hold a father-daughter date night on Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Student Center.

The church’s website announced that it would be their second annual date night for their father and daughter members. They added that the event will be open to all ages.

Besides, they informed the fathers to come in their best outfits and be prepared to make some beautiful memories with their daughters. They noted that they would have an unforgettable evening.

In addition, they would have fun in their dinner and a candy buffet. Also, the church provides a Disc Jockey and a photo booth.

God’s Representation

The Careleader website revealed that the church should care about the father members because they represent God as Father here on earth. They explained that they are needed in their communities for their daughters to turn to God as their Father.

Moreover, the website emphasized that fathers should not be why their daughters would run away from God. They said they serve as a bridge to God as a Father.

According to them, the Scripture says they have a significant and foundational part in their families. But, most of the time, dads usually fail to realize their strong influence on their children, as mentioned on the website.

In addition, the website revealed that he has found out that fathers need to be more knowledgeable about how crucial their role is in the lives of their children. They noted that church leaders must change that.

Walk in Christ

On the same website, they pointed out that dads significantly impact the family's spiritual beliefs and practices. They revealed that it emphasizes their need to be trained to lead.

As further noted, Focus on the Family researched that if the mother is the first to become a Believer in the household, almost 17 percent of the home would follow.

However, their research finds out that if the father is the first to become a Christian, there is 93 percent that all members of all households members would follow.

The website stressed that it matters when a father starts following Jesus or deepens his faith.

Father's Parenting

Dr. Michelle Watson, a professional counselor for 20 years, stated that she has mainly concentrated on father-daughter relationships for the past seven years. She revealed that she often hears from dads that it is challenging to parent their daughters.

Moreover, she exposed on the website that men admit it is easier to be a father to their sons because they have a lot in common. They added that it could be “normal” for fathers to unintentionally spend more time and energy on their sons.

As further stated, mothers can become the “default” parent for their daughters.

Church’s Response

Watson believes that the church is the most suitable place for men to be motivated and knowledgeable on how they could parent their daughters.

As further explained, they could witness real-life situations of becoming a father by observing other men. Watson emphasized that setting up venues for younger fathers to interact with those with experience is crucial.

The website revealed that when a father sees another dad praying with his daughter, he could discover a vision of family prayer.
