Everyone with any artistic desire, general interest in the creative community, or who likes to improve their creative skills is invited to join the Lunch for Arts hosted by All Peoples Church on June 26 at Green Turf after 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The church’s announcement informed the congregation that there would be three sub-categories for the breakout session. These categories include Music Arts, wherein they would discuss instrumentation, songwriting, and vocals.

The website noted that performing arts are also a part of their topic.

Participants would learn more about dancing, drama, and the spoken word. Lastly, they would tackle media arts such as photography, videography, and graphic arts.

Besides, the church would provide a catered lunch and an opportunity to work with other creatives in their community. They informed those interested in notifying the church of meal reservations on June 25.

Worship & Arts

The Ministry Section of the church’s website reveals that All Peoples Worship is the act of worship of the church’s movement. The purpose of the Worship & Arts ministry is to build up Davids. He is the man after God’s heart, with integrity and talent in every unique space to impact the world's four corners.

The exact section mentioned that the church currently has creative spaces. These areas include music, technology, or production. Dancing, performing arts, spoken word, and songwriting are also part of the ministry’s focus. They also offer different types of creative forms of worship. They added that whatever form of worship, the loudest instrument should always be their hearts to Jesus.

Those members interested in volunteering in the said ministry can fill out the form posted on their webpage.

Church, Arts

According to the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities (CCCC) website, in the past, the church was the leading patron of the arts in the Western world.

They mentioned that it used the arts to create extraordinary buildings that show God’s glory.

Besides, the website noted that architects knew how to create higher and thinner walls to give the sacred place an image of the majesty of God. Also, their creation allows the stained glass window to be as huge as possible.

They added that most tri-fold arches and windows depict the  Trinity.

Music also reveals God. They mentioned that the church uses musical scales. They developed the four-part harmony and the musical notation process to organize church singing.

People also improved the pipe organ from a rudimentary set of flutes to an engineering marvel. The website said they did this development because it was the only musical instrument that could play a note without lessening the sound.

Meanwhile, the website revealed that when there is low literacy, Bibles are insufficient. Churches showed the biblical stories in art, they mentioned.

Precisely, sanctuaries portrayed biblical concepts through stained glass windows. They also noted that church-goers could know the Bible through their church’s art.

Tom Wright stated that it is part of the church's responsibility to maintain lives of beauty and aesthetic meaning in the past and even now. From creating music in the village to drama in the local primary school.

The church should also be part of developing artists and photographers through workshops and classes.
