Awaken Church to start Awaken Leadership University 2023

Awaken Church will begin its Awaken Leadership University 2023, a one-year leadership and discipleship program, on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

The church’s Facebook page explained that it would be an excellent opportunity for members to respond to their calling. They added that enrolling in this program could help them move toward Awaken Church’s vision.

Awaken University 

According to the church’s website students enrolled at Awaken University will learn from experts. They noted that business and marketplace professionals would conduct the teaching and training. 

In addition, they mentioned that some teachers are CEOs, business owners, self-made millionaires, and more. 

As further posted, students would be equipped on how to pray, disciple, and speak in front of many people.

Moreover, the church highlighted that Awaken University is rooted in the Biblical principles to expose students to God’s Word and for them to live it out in their daily lives. 

The website noted that there would be weekly discussions with world-class pastors, speakers, and educators. They added that the participants would discover useful applications and instructions on how to have a Kingdom mindset life that pleases God.

More importantly, at Awaken University, they offer particular mentorship by one of their ministry pastors or directors, as noted on the website.

About Director Tom Foster

The same website revealed that Tom Foster is the Director of Awaken University. They said that he served as the Director of the Internship before becoming the head of the church’s university.

In addition, Foster served in the U.S. Coast Guard for nearly 22 years and retired in 2016 as the Commander Master Chief of the Maritime Security Response Team. 

According to the website, God called him to help people know their identity in Jesus. They added that Foster is appointed to guide individuals to know their purpose and lead them in living out their lives as genuine citizens of God’s Kingdom.

Awaken University Coordinator

Meanwhile, the church posted that Mayra Gonzalez has been the Coordinator of Awaken University since 2018. Together with her husband, Jesus Gonzalez, they had loved serving in God’s house since 2021 when they married, as the website added.

Moreover, the website pointed out that Gonzalez was an intern in 2015 while serving as a Health and Human Service at the County of San Diego. 

According to Gonzalez, she was completely transformed through the internship and decided to quit her career to follow God’s calling in 2018. The website noted that she has the heart to establish disciples for Jesus and support people to live out their purpose. 

Level of Commitment at Awaken University

The church website explained that attending Awaken University is a 12-month commitment beginning on their intake schedule. They added that attending office days, such as on Tuesday nights and the whole day on Wednesdays, are mandatory.

More importantly, students of Awaken University should serve at two services and attend one worship service, as noted on the website. 

Besides, as posted on the website, they should participate in a connect group at Awaken Church to establish a connection within the church community. They mentioned that they should participate in church programs.
