Canyon View Church of Christ distributed food bags as part of its Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 15, for families in need.

The church’s website noted that they created a "special" food bag list for the season.

Food Bag Ministry

In another section, Canyon View Church of Christ created the Food Bag Ministry for members to get a filled bag and give it to families, friends, or people in the community that need food.

As further explained, the congregation could distribute these bags to those who do not have enough income and families in the military. They added that those with a new baby in the house or a new family in their neighborhood could receive those bags of food.

Besides, the website said that through this ministry, the members would have an excellent opportunity to give food to those with long-term sickness.

Monthly Ministry

According to the same page, the food bags are nearly $30 worth of food. The church explained that they had intensively selected the items on their list so they would fit into blue bags.

They added that members could get Canyon View’s blue bag with their personalized name and contact information.

The church emphasized that they do this initiative monthly, where the congregations buy food bags and drop them off at the church’s facility. They explained that they aim to give out 40 bags monthly.

As further emphasized, the Canyon View Church of Christ regularly supports local schools with low-income and military families. The church said these people appreciate every bag they give them.

About Canyon View Church

The church’s about section revealed that Canyon View Church of Christ was established in 1994. They mentioned that the Clairemont church and the Pacific beach church worked together.

Moreover, they emphasized that this partnership is an excellent example of unity that Jesus wants His followers to adopt. The website noted that the Canyon View has increased as new Believers are added to God’s Kingdom almost daily.

In addition, the church said they are committed to doing the Great Commission written in the Gospel of Matthew. They believe that God called them and sent them out to make people His disciples.

They added that God appointed them to baptize people in His Son’s name and the name of the Holy Spirit.

More importantly, members at Canyon View Church want to follow Jesus by teaching others how to obey His words, as revealed on the website.

In addition, the church desires to reach many people in San Diego and across the country who are unfamiliar with the love of Jesus.

They want to fulfill their mission by relying on God’s power, and the help of various ministry groups in their congregation as further explained on the website.

Pacific Beach Church

Meanwhile, Pacific Beach Church’s website noted that they are an open and affirming congregation. They explained that they invite and accept everyone to join them at the Lord’s table.

The church believed that God embraced them despite their background and differences. As part of the one body of Christ, the Pacific Beach Church welcomes those with unique sexual orientations and gender expressions.

They added that they involve their entire life, fellowship, leadership, and service.
