Covenant Church hosts walk, talk fellowship

Covenant Church hosted the "Walk and Talk" fellowship for its female members on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Torrey Pines.

The church’s Instagram posted that the program is a fun way to admire the beauty of Torrey Pines. They added that they met at the church at 8:30 a.m.

Focusing on Jesus

According to the church’s Vimeo video, Covenant Church is centered on Jesus. According to Kennerly King, the church’s Spiritual Formation Director, they want to be a community to encounter the love and hope in Jesus.

Lead Pastor Patrick King said that at Covenant Church, they believe that God is redeeming His creation and refreshing lives. He added that their church is located in the center of North Park, San Diego.

One of the Covenant Church’s members stressed that he likes attending church with his family because they see the Gospel in people’s lives. Another member mentioned that it's a community that does not only meet on Sunday morning but throughout the week.

King stated that they welcome everyone wherever they are in their spiritual journey. The congregation at the Covenant Church believes Jesus invited them to see and love their neighbors.

In the video, King emphasized that they spend time on children.

The website noted that the Covenant Church is an “inter-generational community.” They added that people with various life journeys meet together to encounter Jesus at the Covenant Church.

Also, the church desires that those who enter their church would feel the love, happiness, and hope of a community of Jesus’ followers. They hope everyone can experience this positive atmosphere, whether they are already believers.

As further explained in the church’s expect section, they believe that the church could be an uncomfortable place to visit. So they stressed that members of Covenant Church are a group of genuine individuals passionate about obeying Jesus.

Church’s Belief

The church’s belief section emphasized that they are rooted in what is written in the Bible. The Covenant Church believes that the Bible came from God and is accurate.

As further explained, members believed that the Bible is God-inspired and there is no error in the Bible. The Covenant Church thinks the Bible has everything a person needs to connect with God and men correctly.

Another essential belief of Covenant Church is that God mysteriously emerged in three persons. The church emphasized that God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are co-equal. So believers should love, honor, and worship them equally, as noted on the website.

Covenant Church teaches its congregation that man is created in God’s image. So they should treat individuals with dignity and respect. The church is also teaching that people are hopeless if they are apart from the love and grace of God.

Covenant Church believes that Jesus is the bridge to reconnect with God. It believes in Jesus as a hundred percent God and human.
