San Diego FUMC invites members to support the annual rummage sale

San Diego First United Methodist Church (FUMC) encouraged its congregation to support the annual rummage sale hosted by United Women in Faith (UWMF) from Aug. 13 to Aug. 14, Saturday to Sunday.

The church’s Facebook page posted that they could find great clothing choices for all ages and sizes. They added that there would be books, instruments, etc. Besides, the church posted that it is perfect timing for those getting ready to return to school.

In addition, San Diego FUMC noted that their items in the Rummage Sale are gently used and like-new stuff.

In another post on Aug. 9, Tuesday, the church noted that all profits would proceed to the programs of UWMF.

UWIF for Sisterhood

The UWIF Homepage revealed that they are a community of women driven by God’s love and connected in sisterhood. They mentioned that these women are working together to develop the lives of other ladies, children, and teenagers.

As further explained, the organization reached out to spiritual ladies. So they could take action courageously so could change their community.

In another section, UWIF said they aim to connect and cultivate women through a biblical spiritual approach. They mentioned that UWIF provides leadership training. The group gives creative fellowship to inspire women and their communities.

Moreover, the website added that the organization also offers education for women. So they could influence local and global communities.

Taking Courage

The website posted that God’s love motivates women at UWIF to take bold actions and courage. They are also passionate about committing their lives to improve the lives of others. Particularly they want to help women, children, and youth.

UWIF serves justice by providing compassionate service. The group also advocates for changing the unfair rules and system, as noted on the website. According to UWIF, some policies and procedures affect women and young people.

They added that they are dealing with racial and gender biases. They also handle economic inequality and climate concerns, as the website states.

UWIF stressed what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated: injustice in any place is a danger to justice everywhere. He added that people are caught in a network of mutuality which is unavoidable.

National Ministries

The UWIF National Ministries Section mentioned strengthening women and caring for kids. They also support seniors nationwide in community centers and residential neighborhoods.

In addition, their program is to educate the youth and offer houses for those who experienced domestic violence, as posted on the website. National Ministries also deal with the particular necessities of young people.

The website said that UWIF supports about 90 organizations in America. They are giving grants and technical assistance to these groups, as posted on the website. UWIF stressed that its members are also involved in its national efforts.

International Ministries

UWIF also works with international partners, as revealed in its International Section. They noted that they are supporting groups enriching local and regional female leaders. UWIF mentioned that they collaborate with organizations that help in economic development.

UWIF stressed that they offer academic scholarships. Also, they assist Regional missionaries as part of its programs.
