Faith Community Church invited families to join its fundraising night to support Hope for San Diego (HFSD) on Friday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The church’s announcement highlighted that it will serve authentic food from Mama Africa.

Another feature of the fundraiser is the live funk band led by Haley Montgomery of Communion Church. They noted that they would also listen to inspiring stories during the event.

The church emphasized that they are honored to work with the HSFD as they serve and renew the city.

According to the website, as the church family supports the event, Hope for San Diego would be able to help more vulnerable kids and families. They added that they could continue to experience what God wanted them to have.

Faith Community Church stated that the entire family would enjoy the fundraising event. They prepared activities for children, such as a bouncy house and crafts.

They said that The Well would have a program for kids while the adults listen to life-changing stories from the HFSF beneficiaries.

As further announced, children under 12 years old do not need to pay the admission fee, while the ticket price is $20 per person.

Caring for the under-served neighbors

The Hope for San Diego (HFSD) website stated they seek to protect vulnerable people in their community. They said their initiatives are rooted in Christ’s love, so they are investing in the under-served individuals.

As further mentioned, the organization desires to see a city where everyone thrives. They envision a place where everyone can sleep in a warm bed at night and where children are safely cared for in healthy homes.

HFSD said their vision is to renew the city so vulnerable individuals can thrive. They want to take action to see their neighbors embrace strangers, as added on the website.

Under-served Individuals

According to HFSD’s homepage, California is at the top list for the most significant number of homeless people in the U.S.

They emphasized that nine thousand people live on the streets.

The website stated that San Diego ranks fourth among the cities in America with a continuous increase in homelessness.

Moreover, they posted that human traffickers in San Diego could get $810 million for trafficking sex from drugs. The website emphasized that San Diego has more than eight thousand victims yearly.

The website also revealed that thousands of refugees worldwide are escaping life-threatening situations. They said these survivors are trying to rebuild their lives in San Diego.

More importantly, the website posted that 12 children every day are forced to leave home because of abuse and being neglected. As added on the website, these kids spend many years in foster homes, leaving them with no hope of being adopted.

According to their report, 2,500 children are waiting in foster care.

Other Partners

The Well Organization will also take part in the said fundraising event. According to its website, they are a non-profit group that seeks to give women and children peaceful workspace and classes.

The organization also provides special programs to enrich kids and women, as added on the website.
