Flood Church invites its members to be a part of their ongoing Home Campaign to open the doors of their permanent church home at Alvarado Canyon, San Diego.
The church’s website informed that there are five phases on the said building project. According to the report, they have already completed the first and second phases, purchasing land and architectural planning and demolition, from December 2018 to Fall 2019.
As of now, the said website mentioned that their homestretch goal is to raise $900,000 by the end of the year to complete Phase III and move into their permanent church building. This target would only be possible when members prayerfully considered being a part and sacrificially give, the church added.
Moreover, the fourth is to expand worship and outdoor spaces by the fall of 2023 since the said expansion would still need to acquire specific permissions from the City of San Diego, which could take up to two years. Lastly, the final stage is to be depth free by winter of 2028 because they wanted to maximize their impact on people without paying any mortgage, as announced on the website.
They also stated that the total cost of the said campaign is $10,650,000.
Soft Launch at New Building
On the church’s Facebook post, They officially opened its doors and hosted their worship gathering, including Food Kids (infant-5th grade) and youth, on March 6. Pastor Matt Hammett, the church’s Lead Pastor, stated that this is the better season for their first Sunday at their new church home. He also hopes every member could join them on this memorable and meaningful Sunday.
Hammett also informed that they have the keys and permit to use the space; however, they still need more time to make the area feel extra welcoming and sacred such as their auditorium chairs are on backorder. The pastor also hopes to host an Open House and Building Dedication event on Sunday, May 15.
During the said launching, the attendees enjoyed free coffee, hot chocolate, and tea in the Cafe; they also offered Specialty hand-shaken cold brew for donation, the church added.
Construction & Move-in Update
On the church’s blog post on February 2022, they expressed their gratitude to their member’s generosity over the past three years. Their campaign officially ends on March 31, 2022, and still, they needed to raise the remaining $380 445, the church added.
They also reminded members to fulfill any remaining pledges and make additional gifts before the end date. They are now into the fourth phase of the said building project, where they would need to convert the two-story warehouse into a multi-use space that will include a worship auditorium, classrooms, offices, and cafe said on the update.
The church reported that they already received $3,230,860 while there are still over $270 million remaining pledges from the members.
Church’s Prayer Requests
The church pleads to members to join them in interceding to pass their final inspection and receive an occupancy permit as soon as possible. They also wanted them to pray for the contractors’ safety to finish strong with all the final details of the construction.
Additionally, this month they urge to specifically pray for the church’s staff and volunteers because they will be conducting many activities to get their space ready and ensure a significant and meaningful worship experience.
Lastly, they encourage every member to ask God for the remaining provision needed to complete their church home.
