Journey Community Church invites its high school students to join the Encounter Summer Camp from June 26 to July 1 at Forest Home. Meanwhile, they also encouraged students to participate in the Riptide Camp from July 25 to July 29 at Camp Pondo.
The church events section announced that there was enough room for everyone interested. They added that Forest Home is one of the best camps and students would have a fantastic time. However, the Riptide Camp at Camp Pondo only has four slots for those interested.
They mentioned that both camps are excellent opportunities for students to mature in their faith and experience God in an exciting place away from home. The church noted that these camps are also their chance to build lasting friendships.
Forest Home
The Forest Home website reveals that summer camp at this place is an encounter designed to challenge, motivate, and engage students in high school. They noted that each program during the week is intentionally planned to get them out of their usual routines.
These activities would test students into something more valuable, adventurous, and intentional.
Besides, they noted that their staff works hard to keep the teaching connected and Biblically based. Each of Forest Home’s workers finds methods to encourage campers to have deep discussions, prayer, and quiet moments for reflection.
The website also mentioned that they want to work with churches and volunteers to equip their students in their walk with Christ.
The website also believes that campers should have a bunch of fun while experiencing their Creator. With this, the camp provides tons of choices for recreation and outrageous team games.
These competitions include Mud Bowl and Giant Swing. They added that campers would also have the chance to do kayaking, swimming, zip-lining, playing san volleyball, and more.
Camp Pondo
On the other hand, Camp Pondo has a high value that the camp experience should have activities that children do not have the chance to participate in regularly, as posted on the camp’s website.
They featured that not many houses have 100’ water slides, a screaming zip line, or a skate park. They said the camp is a special place to offer exciting experiences in a safe environment.
They think children should be able to join in all programs, so they do not add an extra charge for activities. Whether it be crafts made in the Arts Garage, riding on the Giant Swing, or mountain biking, all of these are free, as posted on their website.
Moreover, they believe that Crazy Fun is a way to spiritual breakthrough. They said it creates friendship and trust while breaking down obstacles. They assured that leaders would also enjoy the camp.
In their Typical Schedule, they posted that campers would have morning worship and team competitions until their free time in the afternoon. Afterward, the students would spend their time in the chapel at 8 p.m. and enjoy a snack break. The camp also allows them to enjoy nightlife until their cabin time at 11 p.m.
