Kairos Church invited all fathers and their children to attend the Kairos Fathers and Kids Camping from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, at Mount Laguna Campgrounds.

The church's announcement posted that this three-day camp would be an excellent way to have conversations and time for fellowship for fathers. They added that this is a beautiful time for mothers to take a break for the weekend.

Moreover, the children may enjoy making smores and exploring nature, as mentioned on the website. The church also prepared a lot of activities.

They informed members that the admission fee per family is $30 and $15 for those who would only attend for the day.

Kids' Ministry at Kairos Church

According to the church’s kids’ webpage, Kairos Church desires to express the love of Jesus to the children. They want to assist them in understanding their identity in Christ, as further explained on the website.

They stated that the church wants to be part of nurturing their characters so others can see God’s love in them. The website explains that their volunteer teachers are living out God’s love. They are holding worship and classes, as further mentioned.

The church emphasized that they offer spiritual formation more than childcare. They added that they teach children the truth based on the Bible and help them experience the Lord.

Impacts of Fathers

The Deseret News website revealed that fathers significantly impact family life and religion. As further explained, children could learn a few things about God through their dad’s behavior and actions.

They noted that there were stable findings that fathers could pass on their faith to their children. The website said that children watch their fathers and absorb various interactions. Kids watch how parents interact with each other, their guests, and others

According to Ross Parke, the author of Future Families: Diverse Forms, Rich Possibilities, fathers were the intercessors of the family. Parke noted that dads in the early centuries had defined religion-related responsibilities.

Leading Families

The same website stressed that early residents in America met together for worship service. They stated that the majority of them gathered at their home. As Park added, families study the Bible, and the fathers teach lessons about living righteously.

Throughout the years, pastors and leaders have been teaching the Bible. But still, fathers' influence on their kids' perspective on religion has a more significant impact. Park emphasized that not all parents are aware of this research.

Meanwhile, David Dollahite, professor of family life at Brigham Young University, stated that studies reveal that a father’s behavior could affect how his kids understand God. The professor mentioned that because the Bible presents God as male, children could see that image of their father.

Moreover, Dollahite explained that if a father is cheerful in life, his kids would be more likely to have a good relationship with God. On the other hand, if a person’s dad was abusive, then he could have difficulties in having a healthy connection with God.

The website stressed that father-kid closeness is more crucial than the child's relationship with his mother.
