La Jolla Community Church (LJCC) encourages members to support their Military Ministry Baby Basket by gathering items every Sunday in May to assist new military parents who live in San Diego.

In the church’s announcement, they stated that giving out baby baskets to their service members is a way for them to show God’s love. Members of the church could help the new parents by supplying things for the baby, such as newborn clothes, bath and care items, blankets, and soft toys.

They added that they could visit their Target registry website to buy the things needed for a baby or purchase them wherever they shop. They mentioned that these items are organized in baskets and distributed to families at a new parent class at a local military base.

Besides, the church highlighted that they could give six baskets in January. During the Marine Corps Air Station’s “Budjet4Baby” workshops, these baskets were raffled off. This May, they hope to donate ten baskets, urging their congregation to bring any items to LJCC any Sunday throughout May. They reminded members that the said program is a great way to care for others in their neighborhood.

Military Baby Baskets

According to the church’s YouTube video, these military families are mainly assigned to Myanmar. They are commonly young families and away from their own families. The church said in the video that having a child could be a challenging experience, so they provide baskets for these families.

They informed members that the baby baskets include various things for the baby, such as baby gowns, clothes, baby wipes, etc. They added that they try to distribute these baskets every month. They stated that it’s a beautiful experience to be able to stand in the gap for a while to donate those things to these military families. The church also mentioned that they are very grateful.

They emphasized the idea that others would care and have compassion is what Jesus wants them to be. The church said Jesus Christ wants them to be compassionate. They respect their service members so much because of what they do for their country. They said they appreciated their sacrifices, so they wanted to give back. They mentioned that these military families are part of their community, and they could be the hand and feet of Jesus to be able to bless and encourage them. They wanted them to know that there are individuals who love and care for them.

Fill In Some Baskets

The church encourages its members to fill in some baskets. Their website also informed their congregation of the items they could donate. They suggested that members provide Clothing for zero to three-month-old babies, like three to four baby outfits, sleeper or pajamas, onesies, and baby socks.

Other essential items they posted are things for the bath and care, such as baby wipes, shampoo or wash, and baby lotion. They also added at least three packs of burp cloths, hooded towels, soft washcloths, and crib sheets. Members could also give receiving blankets.

Moreover, they could also donate toys like a rubber ducky, soft toys or “Lovey,” and teething toys. They also advised them to give out pacifiers and teddy bears.
