All fourth and fifth-grade girls are encouraged to join the La Jolla Community Church’s (LJCC) sleepover on June 24 at 6 p.m.

The church announcement posted that girls would have fun playing games, creating crafts, and watching movies. They would also provide breakfast, and then the girls would have worship time.

Besides, they announced that they could bring their friends. The website also reminded participants to bring their sleeping bags.

Child’s Safety

The children section on the church’s website assured parents that there is nothing more valuable to them than the security of their children. They noted that every kid is checked-in before service, and if the child needs their parent’s attention, they will contact them. All workers and volunteers working in the said ministry are screened. They had undergone background checks to guarantee the safety of the kids further.

The same website also reminded the parents to alert them if their child has any allergies or medical conditions so they could modify the process to meet their needs. They also added that kids should not have a fever or transmittable symptoms for 24 hours before entering a program.

Sunday Morning Program for Kids

The church also holds a Sunday Kid’s class at 9:30 am. They designed programs for each age group. They announced that for Pre-K through Fifth grade, they would stay indoors while those children from zero to three would be in Room 1 in the Nursery room.

Besides, ages four to five would have suitable age lessons and craft activities, as posted on the webpage. Kids from first to fifth grade would also gather in their assigned areas for in-depth studies on the Bible.

The church emphasized that all their teachers would wear a mask when they have indoor activities. The Sunday Kids would also have their Conversation program at 11 a.m.

Leading Child to Christ

“Raising children to follow Christ requires your faith and trust in the Lord’s plan,” stated The Focus on the Family in their blog post on March 15, 2022.

According to Larry Fowler, raising children to follow Jesus is like trying to find direction in an underdeveloped county. He said there is a parenting map or spiritual GPS. Parents go in the best approach, trying to find ways through trial and error.

Fowler noted that parents do not need to feel lost. As they walk through each stage of their kid’s development, they can direct them toward spiritual markers. These characteristics would assist them to find genuine faith and become active followers of Christ.

Meanwhile, Kelly Stigliano wrote in his ‘Leading Your Children to Christ the Savior” blog that his kids were four and five when they believed in Jesus as their savior.
He posted on his blog that "At that age, they were like sponges soaking up the love of Jesus and spiritual truth."

He said that looking around the world provided many natural chances for teaching his children about creation and the Gospel. Those opportunities have given him ways to lead his kids to Jesus.
