Legacy Church’s teaching pastor, Todd Molter, announced his resignation at the end of his preaching in three morning services on Sunday, Nov. 19.
The church’s Facebook page noted that he would be appointed as the lead pastor at Bethel Church of Houston, Texas. They added that Pastor Molter would start in February 2023 and would have his last day at Legacy Church on Jan. 8, 2023.
Besides, they mentioned that there would be a farewell party after his last service at Legacy Church.
Productive Years at Legacy Church
According to Pastor Curt Gruber, the lead pastor of Legacy Church, it would be difficult for them to let go. He emphasized that Molter has been productive in the church's teaching program.
In addition, Gruber said on the post that the teaching pastor greatly impacted the congregation and their communities in La Mesa and Tierrasanta. He added that Molter made his investment and discipleship in many individuals.
As further mentioned, the church has been so blessed by Molter’s long and fruitful work in the past 11 years. Gruber admitted that it would be difficult to imagine his leaving the church, but they believe it is God’s calling.
More importantly, Gruber stated on the post that they hope and pray for God’s best plan for Molter and his wife, Dawn.
Transition at Legacy Church
The lead pastor noted that adjustments are standard in most churches in the same post. He said that most senior pastors make changes every four to nine years.
Gruber added that pastors and ministry leaders would seek God’s leading every time.
Gruber emphasized that Molter made it clear on Sunday that he was not looking for a new place of ministry or intended to leave Legacy. But, he believes that God’s Spirit led him in his ways that can only be called “God-thing.”
Meanwhile, the lead pastor announced that their Board of Directors would start discussing this concern early next month. He explained that they would introduce an initial plan to the congregation at their year-end worship service on Dec. 31.
Staff at Legacy Church
The church’s staff section highlighted that they are a group of deeply passionate individuals in achieving their goals for the Legacy Church. They aim to let the people know there is Grace, Growth, Groups, Gifts, and Generosity in this church.
In addition, they noted that the staff at Legacy Church are willing to help individuals in the church and those in need in La Mesa and Tierrasanta communities. Also, they said that they are eager to help people living in San Diego and worldwide.
Fully Engaged Church
In another section, the Legacy Church emphasized that whatever they do and accomplish, they give credit to God. They believe that God loves humans and He is the one that works in their hearts.
At Legacy Church, they noted that God’s Spirit transforms the course and eternal part of their lives. They believe that everyone matters to God and He loves humans unconditionally, as added on the website.
