Mission Trails Church encourages the congregation to join the Global 6K Walk or Run to raise funds for clean water access for individuals in significant parts of the world on May 21.
The church’s announcement informed members that 6K is the average distance women and kids in the developing world walk for water. They added that water shortage is the number one preventable reason for death globally. The church also emphasized that clean water, sanitation, and hygiene are some factors to protect children and their families.
Why Water
According to the World Vision website, the said even could transform a life. Over 800 children under five die daily from diarrhea caused by polluted water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. Besides, they believed they could solve the global water and sanitation shortage within their lifetimes.
The said website also informed participants the $50 would proceed to those in need when they register for the Global 6K for water. They would be able to give clean water because each registration provides water to a kid.
The said organization posted that they reached one new individual with clean water. They reported that over 3.4 million individuals had received clean water in 2020. The World Vision has worked hard to give safe water and improved hygiene for the last 30 years.
Race Around Country
The website highlighted that the said race could be done wherever the participants are. The 6K takes place in person at the host sites around the country. They added that it could also be done as an “online race” where runners get their race kit in the mail.
They informed interested individuals that on May 21, they could join thousands worldwide from their local host sites or their front door. They could also start in their neighborhood or even on a treadmill. The organization noted that participants could be creative on how they could join the event.
World Vision
Its website highlighted that World Vision is a Christian humanitarian group that passionately deals with children, families, and communities worldwide. The organization initiates program to reach their full potential. They achieve their goal by talking about the reasons for poverty and injustices.
Besides, the said organization is the biggest non-governmental provider of clean water globally, bringing sustainable water to new individuals.
Furthermore, they emphasized that $50 would give clean water to one individual through the said organization projects. The registration goes directly to their fund.
They informed runners that every 6K for Water participant equals clean water for another individual in a developing country. Kids 18 years and below can register half of the said fee.
How to Invite More People
More importantly, the website mentioned that the said race is a great chance to invite friends and family from across the world to take part in the same day for the same purpose. Participants could tag them on social media, give them a call or send an email with the page's link.
The organization encouraged them to celebrate the effect they made by posting a picture with the hashtag #6KforWater.
